Creator Of The eBook Dies

Sad news today the man, Michael Stern Hart, who is credited with inventing the ebook has passed away. Michael first created the ebook when he was inspired to type out the U.S. Declaration of Independence on his computer and distribute it through the computer network at the University of Illinois and he didn’t stop there.

As the founder of Project Gutenberg Michael was able to see his passion for literacy come to life. His dream was to digitize literature making it available for everyone. Today project Gutenberg boasts eBooks in 60 different languages and is one of the foremost resources online.

True to his life’s work you can read Michael’s obituary here at www.gutenberg.org
