there’s nothing wrong with this. I only would like you to know that actually you belong to your muse so just accept the fact that you can't be like the others. Let me tell you one more thing
– even stars envy you from time to time for who you are.’
And just like back then, she sat beside Stu, and just like before he had the feeling that he could trust this girl. It was exactly like when she told him, ‘Don’t mix the albums’ or ‘The song is called like this and not like that’ or ‘You will play one more night at Louie’s’. She could understand him, read his thoughts even… and his soul. And he felt uneasy all of a sudden.
He searched his pockets and took out the silver box. He rolled it between his fingers when he began, ‘What you’ve just said was very beautiful! I do believe in stars and what they teach us, especially the guiding stars.’
‘You do?’ gasped Annie.
‘Yes.’
‘What do you know about them?’
‘That they guide us through the night and that maybe… they sing, too.’
‘Just this?’ Annie couldn't hide her disappointment.
‘What else is there to know?
‘Stars mark your road of life to help you find out who you really are and not to fear it.
Every person has a guiding star… You also have one, which loves you very, very much.’
‘I know. I wish I knew which one it is from them all?’ Stu said and lay behind on the grass to gaze at the starry sky. Annie wasn’t very happy with being so thoroughly searched. She tried to regain her confidence and asked, ‘If you knew which one it was what would you wish upon your star?’ Stu rose up and looked at her. Then he fixed his eyes on the silver box in his hands and said, ‘To help me find the one I could be myself with. The one who’d love me…
forever.’
‘I'll have your wish in mind, Stu. Luckily I’m still here.’
All of the sudden Stu turned straight to her and smiled. He looked happy and full of joy, ‘Yeah, I know! And thank the skies for that!’ And before Annie could even blink he threw his silver box in the water and gave her a long, sweet kiss on her lips.

The morning found them in each other’s arms after an endless dance under the trees in the park away from the real fuzz of the ball and after a jam-session for two in the rehearsal room. Annie took a look at her watch, ‘It's almost lunch time. I have to go now.’
Stu was happily relaxed so he just nodded, ‘I’ll pick you up after classes.’
