Beryl from Happy’s Lane was so contented with everything that she just instinctively smiled at nothing in particular, but everything in general

The rides seemed to take on a surreal glow as the afternoon sun reflected colors from them that they likely didn’t know they had.

Barney, Clara, and Gizmo were well within earshot, but were not compelled to put up any sort of argument with Genevieve.

More of the Pacific Lane contingent; Daisy and Waylon seemed to be happily tuckered from some activity, though precisely what had left them breathless was a bit of a mystery no one was currently sufficiently ill-mannered and dumb to solve and mention.

Willy seemed to be impressed with the size of everything, perhaps wondering how anyone put a roof up there or why his legs were so short.

Clement seemed as if he was enjoying watching the goings-on as much as he liked participating in them. “Carnivals are good.”

Lucky and Bella sat as the sun faded. Bella said; “It’s over.”
Lucky said; “It’ll come back tomorrow morning.”
Bella said; “No, it won’t.”
Lucky laughed and said; “You’re right. It’s only done it 70,000 times in a row. Odds are it won’t work this time.”
Then he jumped on her and she playfully said; “You’re such a wise guy. Bet you might even know that I set you up for this.”
