STARLIGHT UNBOUND
Then, without waiting, she stepped through the doorway and disappeared into the darkness. The creak of her footsteps on the stairs echoed once, then faded.
Lucien stared at the gaping doorway. The darkness beyond felt suffocating, and his feet felt rooted to the floor. What if she ’s right?

Lyra gestured to the murals surrounding them. “Look around. These symbols—these images—they represent what was lost. The starburst you saw... it predates AstroSYS. It’s ancient. It stands for chaos and rebirth, something that existed before the system imposed its so-called harmony.”
His eyes drifted to the nearest mural, a brilliant explosion of color and light. The starburst.
