Chapter 6

I Buy Materials For The Rocket

Since I reside in an Urban area, I needed to enter an abandoned garage close to the beach to construct the rocket.

Fortunately, this big and large garage was not too distant from my home.

Well, I first stumbled upon the garage one day while taking a detour on my way back from school.

Indeed, I also remember entering the garage, which was filled with used mechanic tools, cars, and motorcycles, all covered in dust from years of neglect.

To begin building the rocket without delay, I decided that same Tuesday, the second day of the Week, to purchase some tools after school to complement the old components I had already discovered inside the garage.

However, after school that Tuesday, I did not head home with Xeyamia.

As soon as I spotted her outside the school, I engaged her in conversation before heading to the store to buy essential parts for the rocket.

“Hi Xeyamia!”

“Good afternoon!” I greeted her. “Oh! Hey Werley!” She replied. “What's up?” She asked as she walked alone. “Are you by yourself this time?”

“Where are your friends?” I asked her. “Yeah, you are correct.”

“I am alone right now,” she answered. “Okay, I understand,” I said.

“Where are you headed now?”

“Are you going home?” She asked me. “I am not going home just yet because I have something to pick up elsewhere,” I responded.

“And what about you?”

“Are you going home now?” I asked her. “Yes, I am heading home right now,” she replied.

“Please, be careful!”

“Get home safely!” I urged her. “Thank you!”

“You are too!” She spoke.

Indeed, we took separate paths; although we boarded the same bus, we disembarked at different stops.

“Bye! See you soon!” She called out as she exited the bus to go home, while it wasn't yet my stop.

“Bye!”

“See you later!” I replied.

Since it was already afternoon and before darkness set in, I decided to visit a store to purchase the materials needed for constructing the rocket.

Undoubtedly, this Tuesday marked the initial step I took towards acquiring the tools necessary for building the rocket, as outlined in the sketch I created yesterday.

Of course, I purchased a few tools, but I didn't acquire everything I needed, so I must return to the store tomorrow.

By the time I arrived at the garage to store the tools I had bought and began organizing the area for rocket construction, it was already evening.

Despite my fatigue, I dedicated sometime in the garage to arrange and prepare the space for the rocket assembly.

Late in the evening, I retrieved some mechanical tools and moved a few motorcycles that were obstructing the area to make room for the rocket.

Fortunately, the cars were positioned more towards the corner rather than in the center.

Upon returning to the garage after my shopping trip, I thought to myself, “Alright, finally it's time to get to work.”, “Can someone suggest where I should place the rocket?”

Then, another idea struck me; I considered constructing the rocket in the center instead.

“I believe it would be better to build the rocket in the middle of the garage,” I concluded.

“Yes, that seems like a better option.” I said it again.

Shortly after I cleared a section in the center of the garage to construct the rocket, having removed all the dust, I took measurements for its size. “Alright, what is the current size of the rocket?”

“The rocket is designed for just one seat, for me.”

“I think it shouldn’t be larger than necessary,” I remarked.

“Indeed!” Came the response. “The rocket doesn't have to be excessively big; a medium size would suffice,” I reiterated.

Goodness, the weather was clear during my preparations.

And this is important because the center of the garage has an open roof, allowing ample room for the rocket to exit when I launch it.

Of course, if it rained, the task would have been more challenging as I would have gotten wet, yet aspirations are never insignificant.
