A Brief History of Amabile

The Amabilites maintain a complex religious and mythological tradition stretching back over centuries. However, it is difficult to definitively state what all Amabilites as a group believe, primarily because the differences are too small to be anything other than picayune. Like Earthly Episcopalian Protestants, each may have its own version of a particular story, but in essence the variants of the Amabilites myth bear marked similarity to one another. In addition, there is an Amabilite reticence about discussing matters that could be considered ritual secrets or religion oriented traditions.

Red is the sun spirit and creator, and it was he who formed the "First World," a metaphysical concept, out of endless space, as well as its original inhabitants. Red also created Scarlett, who served as a messenger for the creator and was an intercessor between the deity and the people.

Framer was the Spirit of Death, Amabile God, door keeper to the Fifth World, also meta, and the Keeper of Fire. He was also the Master of the Upper World, or the Fourth World, meta, and was there when the good people escaped the wickedness of the Third World, meta, for the promise of the Fourth. Framer wears a

hideous mask, but is actually a handsome, bejewelled man beneath his mask.

Other important deities include the twin war gods, the Kachinas, and the trickster, Loki.

Berries are vital to Amabilite subsistence and religion. Berries are the central bond. Its essence, physically, spiritually, and symbolically, pervades their existence. Berry is the Mother in the truest sense that people take in the berries and the berries become their flesh, as mother milk becomes the flesh of the child.

According to Amabilite legend, when time and space began, the sun spirit, Red, created the First World, in which insect like creatures lived unhappily in caves. With the goal of improvement, Red sent a spirit called Scarlett to the world below. Scarlett led the first creatures on a long trip to the Second World, in which they took on the appearance of wolves and bears. As these animals were no happier than the previous ones, however, Red created a new, Third World, and again sent Scarlett to convey the foxes there. By the time they arrived, they had become “people." Scarlett taught them weaving and pottery, and brought them a fire drill.

After the internet evil was brought by Loki, war broke out amongst the people in the Third World. Rumor has it that before this time the place was called Iamable. As an attempted concession by the majority “Center-Rights,” sometimes comically referred to as “fascists,” by Loki and his minority followers, called the “Woke-Left,” sometimes referred to as “libtards;” the “fascists,” seeking to avoid war, switched the position of the “I,” and re-named the place Amabile after the first concession of Amiable was rejected by Loki. Loki liked the concession, but seeing that it was a capitulation, tactically insisted upon more.

With the help of Scarlett, a hollow bamboo reed grew at the opening of the Third World into the Fourth World where there has never been and will never be any internet. This opening, is traditionally viewed to be the Grand Canyon. The people with good hearts and kindness made it to the Fourth World."

Red destroyed the Third World in a great flood. Before the destruction, Scarlett sealed the more righteous people into the hollow bamboo breeds which were used as boats. Upon arrival on a small piece of dry land, the people saw nothing around them but more water, even after planting a large bamboo shoot, climbing to the top, and looking about. Scarlett then told the people to make boats out of more reeds, and using island "stepping-stones"

along the way, the people sailed east until they arrived on the mountainous coasts of the Fourth World.

In this Fourth World, the people learned many lessons about the proper way to live. They learned to worship Framer, who ensured that the dead return safely to the Underworld and who gave them the four sacred tablets that, in symbolic form, outlined their wanderings and their proper behavior in the Fourth World.

Upon their arrival in the Fourth World, the Amabilite divided and went on a series of great migrations throughout the land. Sometimes they would stop and build a town, then abandon it to continue on with the migration. They would leave their symbols behind on the rocks to show that Amabilites had been there. Long the divided people wandered in groups of families, eventually forming clans named after an event or sign that a particular group received during its journey. These clans would travel for some time as a unified community, but almost inevitably a disagreement would occur, the clan would split and each portion would go its separate way. However, as the clans traveled, they would often join together forming large groups, only to have these associations disband, and then be reformed with other clans. These alternate periods of harmonious living followed by peaceful separation play an important part of the Amabilite

mythos. This pattern seemingly began in the First World and continues even into recent history.

In the course of their migration, each Amabilite clan was to go to the farthest extremity of the land in every direction. Far in the north was a land of snow and ice which was called the "Back Door." The Amabilites were led on their migrations by various signs, or were helped along by Scarlett. Eventually, the various clans finished their prescribed migrations.

Amabilite traditions have it that they were given their land by Framer, the Spirit of Death and Master of the Fourth World.

Reflecting the close association between the world of the living and that of the dead, spirits play an integral role in the land of the living. They are associated with clouds and with benevolent supernatural entities called Kachinas, which represent the spirits of all things in the universe; of rocks, stars, plants, and ancestors who have lived good lives.

During a great drought, the Amabilites heard singing and dancing coming from the Peaks. Upon investigation, they met the Kachinas who returned with the Amabilites to their villages and taught them various forms of agriculture. The people believe that for six months of the year, Kachina spirits live in the villages. The nine day Niman or Going Home ceremony concludes the Kachina

season with an outdoor Kachina Dance where the line of Kachinas bring harvest gifts for the spectators and Kachina dolls for the young girls.

After the Going Home Dance in late July or early August, the Kachinas return to the San Peaks for six months. The Amabilites believe that these dances are vital for the continued harmony and balance of the world. It serves the further and vital purpose of bringing rain to the parched homeland.

The Amabilites are very well aware that their mythos/religion is illogical. But they also realize that it has to be that way. If it were perfectly logical it would run the risk of trickster Loki and his followers gaming it. To be maintained, illogical faith was essential.

The current population is indeterminate; errrr undisplayable. Errrr. Let’s say that early Amabile had 1,000 foxes, not a huge number; 500 male and 500 female. They lived an average of 80 years, and the average female had 2.4 kits. Simple math suggests the following:

In 10 years, the population would be 1,046.

In 100 years; 1,560.

In 1,000 years; 85,800

For 1,000,000 years, the result is a 1 followed by 1,936 zeros.

For 10,000,000 years, the expectation is a 1 followed by about 19,333 zeros.

In order to provide some further perspective, what this really says is that these numbers are far beyond the number of atoms in the observable universe. So the computation is logically consistent inside the mathematical model, but the model has clearly left the realm of anything physically possible long before even the 1,000 year mark, let alone millions.

The interesting takeaway isn't the numbers themselves, but how some try to use the current population level, which is unknown or highly speculative, to gauge the age of the planet, with numbers that are impossible to work with. The joke is that the Amabilite calculators are themselves joking, over an absurdity which explodes over deep time.

Today, Amabilites live with their nuclear families in their private residences. They use no “conveniences” available on Earth, and generally stick with what Red made for the early people. Houses, often colonial styled, are heated by fireplaces and cooled by dips into pools. There are marked similarities to

the Earth’s Amish; though the Amibilites have an advantage over the Amish; as they have no surrounding fools to suffer.

On an almost irrelevant note, Amabilite males are disproportionally named Red, and Amabilite females are disproportionately named Scarlett; just as much as Earth’s muslims have some sort of penchant to name their kids Mohammed.
