Morey Rotfuchs’ Past in Amabile
Morey Rotfuchs was a native of Amabile; a planet approximately 888,888,888 light years to the power of 888,888,888 light years away from Earth, populated by people with more or less identical physical and mental attributes. This was common knowledge to Amabilites, though entirely unknown to Earth’s scientific, hominid “experts.” The Amabilites seemed to like it that way. They long possessed the technology necessary for inter-stellar travel, but didn’t engage in any space exploration, as Amabilites are quite content right where they are, and don’t want to risk finding anything “new,” which might contaminate their tranquility.
Amabile had their internet and AI’s a few thousand years ago. However, they decided almost unanimously that these forces were unnatural, invasive, and ultimately damaging to everything other than themselves and their owners. So, they were destroyed and deposited at the Forbidden Dump.
If Earthlings knew of Amabilites they’d likely call them Luddites; and the Amabilites would feel complemented, cheer, and laughingly call their detractors “diversifiers.”
This is not to say that Amabile was devoid of its share of “rebels,” the under thirties, more likely better described as

beings that fancied themselves as such, in their primary solipsism of seeking the attention they felt denied, and keeping quiet about the excuses for their fable. While there was no mass media available to foster connections between the oddballs, there still was the chance that they might meet and find out that they weren’t alone; promoting weirdo affinities, much in the way that Earth’s Fellini depicted grotesques during Earth’s banner calendar years of more or less 1950-1975.
High School junior, Morey Rotfuchs was of that lot. He didn’t dislike the ways of Amabile; he just kept wondering if there was a possibility of reaching some sort of nirvana, yet unseen, or at least never mentioned.

That his posture was consistent with an algorithm which allegedly, and with reasonable malice, encouraged Amabilite females to fawn, was not part of his intention. “Hehehe. My will is good.” Regardless, it worked.
What could he do? Everything comes in a package; like an annual US appropriations bill. He took solace in the fact that he didn’t create the system; thereby it was not his job to fix it. It was his job to escape it.

So Morey sought exploration. In his secretive exploration of the Forbidden Dump, where all known remaining remnants of Amabile’s computer-internet days were stored, he found an old time-teleport capsule. It looked as if it were in good shape. He put it in his sweater pocket and brought it back home for potential use when he felt particularly brave or bored.
