We have a book that is as common as salt to help us understand who God is. However, there are so many unexplained books in what we call the Bible. It is a collection of books that make up what we have as scripture. What are these books for? They are for us to relate to the One true God. These books have a lot of stories that tell us who the Lord is and what His purpose is for our redemption. The Lord has made a plan that has been set from the foundation of the earth. What has the Lord done? He has been to earth in physical form to die for the redemption of mankind. He has been despised by the world that He came to redeem. He has been to the world that he purposed to redeem and the world rejected him. This is why there are so many people that are not able to reach God. If a man has a problem with reaching God, he should ask himself one essential question; what is the Lord saying about my relationship with Him? If he can go and learn about why there is a plan for redemption, he will be saved. How will a man find salvation? It is what this book will be able to solve at the time that man starts calling upon the name of the Lord.
Have you ever heard of the name above all names? The name Jesus is the Lord’s own name. If you go and call upon the Lord and you omit Jesus, you will call upon a lord that you will not desire to call God. If you call on a lord and that lord comes, you will not desire the consequences of that adventure. Who is a lord? A lord is a spirit that is not of God. If you adventure with magic, you will get a lord over your whole being that will give and take away from you. What is it that such a lord will take away? He will cause you to lose some gifts that the Lord has given to you from the foundation of this earth. The Lord has gifted everyone that is on earth in one way or another. There are people who have gifts that they do not even know of; some people are gifted with wealth, others are gifted with knowledge, wisdom, understanding, beauty, music, design, peace, love, authority, oratory, discernment, children and grandchildren. A man who has a gift from the Lord will expect that gift to bring joy. If you have a gift that is from a lord, you will not experience joy. You might be happy but will never experience the joy that a person who has been gifted by the Lord will experience.
If you are a person who is admiring what a lord can give, you will end up receiving gifts that are meant for another person. How? If you are able to understand the scriptures, you will learn that the thief comes to kill steal and destroy. A man who is willing to give the devil an opportunity will lose some of his gifts to the enemy. He is called Lucifer. He is the deceiver and the father of all lies. If you cooperate with the enemy, you will lose those gifts that the Lord gave to you from the foundation of the earth. The enemy uses these stolen gifts to bless his own people. Who are these people? They are the people that are admired by most of us. They have all that you think the Lord cannot give to you. If you are a person who has doubt, you will glorify the enemy. If you have faith, you will please the Lord. These spirits are both what we are going to learn about later in this book. What is a gift of a wealth? There are some people that have wealth that you may not know exist. A man that has a job has not yet experienced the Lord’s wealth. If he has an income from that job, he is either rich or struggling but is not wealthy. Wealth is a gift that does not require a man to struggle to live. If you have to work hard to earn a living, you are not wealthy even if you might be an employer or a business owner! A Wealthy person does not have to work to earn a living. This is a person who lives on the abundance of the Lord’s blessing. This blessing is not earned but comes with obedience to the Lord. How can a man become obedient to the Lord? He will have to first learn how to hear the Lord’s voice. The Lord is always speaking in a man’s life. There is no way a person can say the Lord is quiet. The Lord is not quiet and is always speaking to the people who love Him. Have you ever been able to hear the Lord’s voice? It is something that most people think is impossible. I once had a friend who told me that hearing the Lord speak is not what happens in the modern age. He thought the Lord only spoke to the Old Testament prophets and not in this age. He was a minister of music in the church. I was discouraged when I heard what a man whom I considered was a Christian was telling me that the Lord does not speak! I was unable to heed to his words. I have now proved that he was wrong. The Lord does speak. I have heard the Lord speak most often in this modern age. I have been commissioned by the Lord to tell people in this modern age that He is calling out to them who are searching for Him and that He is willing to speak to them if they are willing. The Lord is not going to force anyone to desire His love. If you are willing to search for the Lord’s own voice, He will speak and you will hear His voice. If you are unable to search, you might not hear the Lord’s voice. What is that experience like? We will study that question throughout this book.
How will you start on your own journey of hearing the Lord’s voice? You have to know that there are some things that you do not need to go and search for! If you want to have knowledge from the Lord, you need to begin by fearing the Lord. How does a man fear the Lord? You need to have the Lord’s Spirit within you. If you have the Holy Spirit in you, you will fear the Lord. The Holy Spirit is the One who confirms what the Lord is saying within you. There is a lot of confusion to some people as to whether the Holy Spirit is the conscience. If you have the Holy Spirit you will need your conscience to work with the Holy Spirit. If you are a person who does not have the Holy Spirit, you are already disadvantaged in this quest. The Holy Spirit is a person. He is Jesus. If you are a person who is always asking for a way of reaching God, it is the Holy Spirit who will guide you on the way to go about that journey, depending on what the Lord has willed. If you are a person that has the Holy Spirit, He will ask you to start reaching out to the Lord. How will you know that the Lord is speaking? There are numerous ways that the Lord can speak to a person! He can speak through;
A Dream
A Prophet
The Holy Spirit or the word of God
An Audible Voice
An impression
A Vision
How does a person recognise that a dream is from the Lord? If a dream is from the Lord, it will not cause the person to be anxious. If a dream is from the enemy, it will usually cause a person anxiety. If you receive a dream that has left you without peace, that dream is not from God. The Holy Spirit will speak to your spirit at the Lord’s timing. If you are confused about whether it is the Holy Spirit or your conscience, you will have to wait for the Lord to confirm what He is saying to you in another way. The Lord usually confirms what He speaks.
The Lord also speaks through his prophets. If you are able to listen to a prophet in your midst, you will need to understand whether the prophet is of God or is a false prophet. A prophet who is from the Lord will usually speak to people about what is on the Lord’s mind. It means that prophet might not understand what the Lord is saying at that particular time. That prophet might also not know what he is speaking if he does not have the gift of understanding, the gift of interpretation and the gift of discernment of spirits from the Spirit. If a man chooses to seek a prophet to hear the Lord’s voice, that person might receive a message that is metaphorical and might not be able to understand or interpret it. What is a metaphor? It is a message that needs to be interpreted before it can be understood. This is usually not the best way to hear the Lord’s voice. A person should desire to seek the Lord’s voice himself and not through a prophet. A prophet is a person who has a role of encouraging God’s people at a particular time and place. A prophet is not supposed to tell a person about his future as many think.
An audible voice from the Lord is what most people will never experience. A person may be able to hear the Lord speak through their own mouth. If you are a prophet, then you will usually hear the Lord speak as you speak. If you are unable to hear the Lord speak as you speak, you are not a prophet. An audible voice that is not from your mouth is usually not the way the Lord speaks; however, there are some people that can hear the Lord speak in an audible voice once in a while. These are prophets of God. There are some prophets that are from the Lord and others that are from God. A prophet that is from the Lord is the one that usually does not understand what the Holy Spirit is saying to the people. A prophet that is from God is one that usually understands what the Holy Ghost is saying to the people. The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of God. If a prophet has been in the Lord’s presence for long, he will be able to hear God speak. God speaks without metaphors! If you receive a message from a prophet that is from the Lord, you will need to get an interpretation of that message from the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit may give a person an impression from the Lord. If you receive such an impression, it will need to be confirmed by the Lord on several occasions. If you are a person who receives such impressions you need to confirm these impressions with your human spirit. If the impression is making you anxious, then it is not from the Lord. The Lord will always confirm what you are receiving through your spirit in another way.
There are people that can receive visions from God. If you are a person that is able to receive visions from God, you will initially think that they are thoughts. If you think you are receiving thoughts, then go and ask the Lord to make them clearer so that you can confirm what the Lord is saying. If you want to hear the Lord speak in a particular way, then you are trying to tell the Lord what to do. He is the Lord and knows what is best for you.
The Holy Spirit can lead a person to the word of God so that that person can understand what the Lord is saying to him. If you read the scriptures, you read with the Holy Spirit. There are people who think this is the only way the Lord speaks! It is not the only way the Lord speaks.
The way to hearing the Lord speak is obedience. You have to obey what the Lord asks of you. Some people want to hear the Lord speak yet they have sin in their lives; other people are not able to hear the Lord speak because they have curses that block them from hearing the Lord’s voice. Such people may try to hear the Lord’s voice but will be unable to hear the Lord speak. What type of curses are these? If you have ever contacted the dead for knowledge, prophecy or blessing; you will not hear the Lord speak. This sin is what God calls necromancy; He abhors it. It brings a curse of deafness and dumbness upon a person who practices it. If you have such a curse, you need to cooperate with the Lord who became a curse for you to be redeemed. If you have a sin of immoral thoughts, you will not hear the Lord speak. It brings a curse of hopelessness. You will hear the Lord ask you to repent and not anything else. When you hear the Lord tell you to repent, heed to his voice and do not try to bypass Him. It is a hopeless endeavour. If you are a man who has a curse of any kind upon you, then you will need to know what type of curse is pursuing you. There are many types of curses that are as a result of sin committed by you, your father, your grandfather and great grandfather. If you are in such a curse, you would not be able to know who of your fore fathers committed that sin. You need the Lord to tell you. This is what the Lord does all the time. The Lord reveals sin. If you have a curse upon you, you will not get help from your pastor, evangelist, apostle, teacher or miracle worker. You will need the Lord to tell you what to do. If you are able to hire a pastor to go to your home and tell you what the Lord is saying, then you are in hell already! A pastor is an encourager of God’s people. His role is to guide the flock move in a particular direction. He will not be told by the Lord what a man’s curse is. The Lord will tell a prophet what is going on in a particular home, place or nation and what has been done there before that grieved God. When you go to a prophet, you might find a prophet that speaks the Lord’s mind who might tell you about things that are metaphorical. If you find a prophet that is from God, you will get the truth about what is going on in your life. A prophet from the Lord is a man that still needs to spend some more time in the Lord’s presence and be tested. A prophet from God is a man that has spent a lot of time in the Lord’s presence and has gone through many tests. If a prophet is from the Lord, he will usually not be able to interpret what the Holy Spirit is saying. A prophet from God will usually interpret what the Holy Ghost is saying.
