Life Lesson

By

Robby Richardson

Great success is found within making the greatest mistakes I got more problems on my shoulders, and they just keep on piling on These struggles that I’m facing just keep on weighing me down If I could teach my kids just one thing when hell starts to raining’ all around Grab a car put the peddle down to the ground

Tell them all settle down and sit right back down

I’d do a doughnut in it

I got bridges behind my back, and I set that mess on fire They tell me don’t…I tell them I won’t…but in the end I’m just a liar And when it burns to cinders and ash and trash and the sky starts to crash When my world starts to crumble, and smoke burns their reality to rubble I’d grab a car and hope that I don’t crash

While I do a doughnut in it

May the bridges I burn light the way litter the dead across my pathway What advice would I give away to the ashes that rain from a life that no longer remains I would recommend doing a doughnut in it

Go around…spin right around…blowing smoke…lighting more than just tires I would do a doughnut in it

May the bridges I burn correct a road forwards and doughnuts say much more than words can shore up I would do a doughnut in it

Right around in circles…flip the bird…towards the world…unconcerned with the unpreserved A doughnut in it

Never was your forte or your jam and behind all this smoke I couldn’t give a damn I am not your amigo, guy, chum, “cuz”, buddy, confidant, nor friend Not even an acquaintance when you come around here with that slander again I am not your boat that floats just that different stroke for different folk Not your friendly joke, nor a kindly or saintly bloke

I dive in with both feet when you want to pull cards I’m your Hallmark I got cards that greet and greet the best I can freely show not just blowing smoke Once a foe now your just somebody I used to know

Somebody that helped me grow not plateau make any tragedy my Broadway show Oh God damn…

My personality ruined another friendship leaving nothing but head trips It’s alright I was never liked anyway at any age nor with any gain nor in a friendly way Never fitting in helped me grow to withstand the storm from any pain Walk right through the front door with the confidence earned from the life I learned Hello everybody…

It’s that disappointment once again, the black sheep, the has been The man you pass on in a clutch…the man at the end always short by an inch That rotten apple that spoils the bunch…that good for nothing son of a BLEEP

The bad egg or the cur dog chained up in the backyard

That let down, good for nothing, who dashes hopes, and smashes life-long dreams But Oh, how these ears perk up when it’s time to speak

The one that had high hopes that walks on tight ropes

That one last round when the ring bell sound

We can go blow for blow and toe for toe

I got that dead hand grip for the debt I owe

Remind them that I’m a disappointment at being a disappointment With my unreleased chapters being my kill switch written in mad laughter Waiting for release upon my disaster

And that’s the lesson I wish to pass to her

When the final page is turned make it a real page turner

The Pagemaster of a caged raptor causing disaster with zero care Holding heads higher bringing hellfire on a scale of a miniscule rapture And like a doughnut upon my demise still I rise

I got bridges behind my back, and I set that mess on fire They tell me don’t or believe I won’t

And when it burns to cinders and ash and the sky starts to crash When my world starts to crumble, and smoke burns their dreams to rubble I’d grab a car and hope that I don’t crash

While I do a doughnut in it…

May the bridges I burn light the way litter the dead across my pathway What advice would I give away to the ashes that rain from a life that no longer remains I would recommend doing a doughnut in it

Go around…spin around…blowing smoke…lighting more than just tires I would do a doughnut in it

May the bridges I burn correct a road forwards and doughnuts say so much more than words do I would do a doughnut in it

Right around in circles…flip the bird…towards the world…unconcerned with what lie below So, I’m yelling out Geronimo as I jump right overboard

Look out below…

Here I Am

By

Robby Richardson

Here I Am…

I will not be ignored…the pen is my sword…I’m the lion that roars gruff and tough Here I Am…

Not just another face in the crowd…to stand out…not be lost but found…a diamond in the rough Here I Am…

Not another sheep amongst a world of wolves I strive to be the Alpha unmasked from the wool Here I Am…

I aspire to be the Apex in every endeavor from which my strength is measured Here I Am

In the dark of the night is when I shine bright

I turn into a monster under the bright moonlight

I have a Predator eyesight with that howl at midnight The calm death that comes too soon prowling on the wind when it comes looking for you I’m that dominate voice from within the dark with a flame from a spark Tackling the kraken while swimming with the sharks

I will not be taken down without a fight

Here I am and here I stand

The obstacle against the wind that forever withstands

Disappear from the scene and be the night terror of a dream Become that tale from long ago bring the fright like the whisp from a shadow’s cloak So Here I Am…

On the top of the world and at the bottom of Hell

Here I Am…

Watching a new rise and a dead day fall

Here I Am…

Scared again of the wonder unsure of where I’ll land

Here I Am…

So low that I see Hell’s black dome in my own home

Do you see me…here I am…can you withstand the impact of who I really am I topple titans in a dark abyss and like Gambit I got nothing but a card for this Walk through Tartarus and leave my enemies with a pen stroke and a parting kiss Retreat into a neglected silence but does the peaceful forest still not see violence Here I Am…

I am my own worst enemy…I am no friend to me

And I know in the end I am the reason for my fall

I am to blame for the chaos that ensues…I am the reason for reasons untrue I am the cause of my own downfall…the darkness in my own storm cloud

Life gave the hit, and I took the fall…I was down and out until the crown called I can be split in half or disintegrate altogether

Staple me back together and watch me stroll through the underworld nether Here I Am

In the end the steps of my success are steps that I’ll miss or steps that I’ll slip I’ll always fall short always break down

So here I am today better than I was yesterday

Greater than the here and getting better with the now

HERE I AM is my call and Robby is my name

Tattoo it on your skin or imprint it on your brain

Commit it to memory and download it to your mainframe

Stand against the arrows that blacken out the sun

Here I Am…

I make my way unconcerned with what they might say

Here I Am…

Not another rabbit amongst the foxes at bay

Here I am and here is where I’ll stay
