Going Postal

Robbing post offices is duck soup. They don’t even have any security beyond the creampuff-clean-up-the-joint codger with the broom. It’s pennies from heaven. You ask me; “If it’s so duck soup why isn’t every jerk doing it?” I reply; “As you said, they’re jerks. You might try asking one of them.”

Post offices hold cash, lots of cash on the last payday of the month when workers purchase money orders/postal orders. As Pop Tate has said, the Depression never ended in Rockford. The home/land owners in the slightest degree of default were quickly re-possessed by the lending banks. These national banks then sold the properties quickly and cheaply to their “friends” and supporters in the big cities, who then rented them back to the original defaulters. These people rightly didn’t trust anyone
