Part 4
When morning arrived—it was indeed morning—my father and mother set off on their ship to Kingston. Well, this was their first visit to Jamaica since they moved to Italy. So, my father was accompanied by his crew and their wives, along with my mother, of course.
Although it was morning when my parents departed for Jamaica, I was asleep and missed their departure.
Even though I was aware of their plans to visit Jamaica, I felt I should have either seen them off or I should have gone to drop them off. But never mind because everything that happened had happened for one reason or another, you know.
Indeed, that morning, when I awoke, I didn't even catch a glimpse of my father and mother.
The reason for my lack of concern was that my mother had already informed me they were departing Italy that morning for Jamaica. “Father! Mother!” I called out, but I didn't hear a sound in the house as I got up.
And I checked the rooms, but my parents were nowhere to be found. Even when I searched throughout the house, I saw no one there—I was alone—by myself in the house without my parents. “Where are my parents?”
“Where could they be?” I said it repeatedly. Then it struck me that my mother had mentioned they were leaving for Jamaica that morning.
“Hold on!”
“One second, please?”
“Are they already on their way to Kingston?”
“Last night, my mother told me they were heading to Kingston.” Hold on!
If I wake up and find that my parents are missing despite my thorough search of every corner inside, it’s clear they must have gone to Kingston. Although it was unusual, I wasn’t overly concerned since my mother had informed me last night that they would depart this morning. Of course, not seeing them served as undeniable evidence of their departure—an unmistakably evident confirmation, my friend. “Since I haven't seen them, they must have already departed!” I concluded.
Part 5
A few minutes later, I headed to the warehouse to finish up some paintings I was working on and to assist some clients who regularly came to buy or inquire about paintings. “Alright.”
“Let the day commence.”
“Another blessed day?”
“What should I do now?” I spoke. “Oh, the paintings, right!”
“I need to add the finishing touches,” I said as I stepped into the warehouse.
Then I immediately got to work on the paintings until some clients arrived for service this morning.
However, during all this time since I woke up, my father and mother were indeed on a ship heading to Jamaica.
