Back at The Chivalry Chapel…..
Later that evening. As they sat for dinner. Trey and Lauren joining them.
Pastor Connor Drake, sitting at the head of table, going over the paper agreement. “Everything looks good on paper. He has crossed his ‘T’s and dotted his ‘I’s. His sentences matches his paragraphs of legalities, look legit. From the looks of it, he has put careful thought into it. It seems he has all his prominence of entitlement in a row in line of his responsibilities.” He handed the document to Liam.
Bren, in jest. “Sounds promising. But was it before or after his wine?”
Pastor Connor sat back in his hair. “’Ey, I do agree. However. We may have no other choice but to accept his offer for the survivor of many. Lady Tauna finishing her meal, sat straight. “He was most charming with his words, but will his actions speak louder?”
Liam vouched. “Precisely. Can we trust in his word, in clear head or without sobriety?”
Trey, interjected.“Regardless, we should have a back up plan, not to just hand over anything to the king as leader.”
Liam, after looking over the legal paper. acknowledged. “Right brother. And I have yet to question him. Like his lingering questions about who is in charge of Chivalry Chapel. To place much emphasis upon that subject. But otherwise everything looks binding.”
Pastor Connor tapped his fingers upon the table. “Yes I agree. Regardless. Time is slowly running out for the villagers. We must act as soon as possible before any fatalities. Liam, see to question him for more answers with a visit. Until then. We have a return answer soon.” Liam, as he picked up his fork, to eat his last morsel of food, his fork suddenly fumbling out of his hand. Picks up his fork again, then once again, the fork drops from his fingers. The last clinking sounded off for all to see. Liam, seeing all looking at him in question, began to rub his hand, then in dismissal of his attention, pulled his chair to excuse himself. “Right Sir. I shall be back with the answers.”
Pastor Connor spoke out. “God willing.”
Liam, with dimpled grin, placing his confident hand upon his shoulder, then left the room.
