The next day, onward to his duties, Liam walking the hall, seeing his father seeing him, slowed his pace, stopped.

Sir William, tipped his head in curtesy to his eldest son. “Devon is a mirror of you. I see the strength of his father within him.”

Liam, giving him a straight face. “ Yes, I suppose you could say that.”

Sir William, with straight face. “And your grandson William. Already showing your traits. Will no doubt be your greatest extension of our Niles surname.”

Liam stood in quiet observation.

Sir William, seeing his son’s undivulging stance. “I see your great mastering in careful thought. Not to give out too much too soon. Just as I taught you. The characteristics of a great Detective. But how are your skills in swordmanship holding after all these years?” Liam, grasping the tilt of his sword. “As mighty as ever.”

Sir Wiliam, with pride. “Yes, I can see that for myself.” Grasping his own Sword.”But only in technique of your skills is worthy of notice. Come on Liam. Show me just once, of your gallantry of valor that show proof of what I taught you.”

Liam, not budging. “Sorry Father. I only fight when it calls for it.”

Sir Willam, with slight smirk. “I have taught you well. Perhaps show me your skill in practice.”

Liam, sighed. “I have already had my daily practice with Trey.”

Sir William, insisted. “I would like have the priviledge of practice with my son…”

Liam, annoyed.“THEN GO ASK TREY!!” He snapped at him. “Now, I’ll be going back to my duties.” He begins to walk off.

Sir William, taking one step ahead of him, taking his sword from his side, placing it at Liam’s feet before his exit.

Liam, abruptly stopped in place, seeing his father’s intercepting his exit, taking another stepping route in resistance.

Sir William, once again, reasserting his sword in front of him, blocking his way out.

Liam, stood tall in continued resistance. “Father. If its your intentions to provoke me into swordsmanship. You don’t want to go there with me. Since I am fully immersed since childhood in The code of Chivalry, by my father’s teachings, I will warn you only once. Mind your wits, Do-Not-test- my- Boundriaries. For you will just only get a return on what you invested. Mind –My –Words. DO NOT MUCK WITH ME!”

Sir William, raised his brows in pride. “Excellent!” Upon raising his sword in mid air, spooks a parishioner walking by, then runs away in high gear.

Liam, unamused. “Never raise your sword to an unarmed man!”

Sir William, with wry mouth. “Brilliant. That’s my Boy!”

Liam, still not budging. But stationed in place.

Sir William, lifts his sword to lean against his shoulder. “My dear son. You are just as feisty as your mother.”

Liam, with indented brows of aggression. “And You shouldn’t bring your dirty laundry to the table of what you are not willing to wash and dry your hands with.”

Sir William, withdrawing back from him. “In spite of your past insult. I will defend myself in in my defense. My only alibi is my own truth. And we both know what that is. That bloodlines are thicker than water. And what your mother was asking for was our truce.”

Liam, giving him an unkind look. “Unless that bloodline became tainted with unsavory choice.”

Sir William, taking a step.” And what do you know about choice. For what we do in this life is sometimes what we do to justify ourselves and survive.”

Liam, with grit. “NOT UNDER MY BELT OF ARMOR! Not of yesterday, not today, nor of tomorrow will I make truce with unjustified ignorance of lost trust. And you Father have put me under an unforgiving stance. YOUR WORD OF HONOR MEANS NOTHING TO ME!” Liam, taking another step to leave, he is once again met with much opposition as his father, placing his body in the way, preventing his son from leaving.

Sir William, not moving from him. “Except one error in judgement. You’re letting your emotions overtake your solid mindful deductions. You’re losing your focus and deserting your own mother in your own mind! Liam. Tell me. Did you and Tauna have your Devon out of wedlock?”

Liam, in careful giving answer. “Yes Father. From my own loins, I fathered him.”

Sir Williams, coy. “Well, well. Its seems the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”

Liam, in utter disgust. “Well Father, maybe you should have made better clear choices to have either kept your vows of chasity in as many times of recommissioned knight and not hastened in a passioned nights of heat at the expense of my mother’s loyalty.” Thrusting himself through the door.

As Sir William pushes him back inside.”It was at the consent of your own mother that your brother Trey to be birthed.”

Liam, double down with him. “And for that, I am deeply grateful. Now for the last time. Move out of my way or bear the consequences of your actions with a real man!”

Sir William, with staunch look. “Right,I’ll give you a reason for defense. SWORD UP!” Thrusting him away from the doorway, then hurling the first throw of his sword at his son

Liam, retracting his sword from his scabbard, lifting his sword in his defense, parried against his father’s sword with a loud clashing sound as their fighting commenced.

Connor with Bren coming inside to see what the commotion is. Much to his surprise, Connor seeing this, smiles ear to ear. “Well Oh Lord! Will you look at this Bren! We been blessed by the Lord!! Something I always wanted to see. The action from the legend himself! MY GOD surely loves me this much! Come on Bren,Lets grab a seat!”

Bren just as giddy joins him.

Next in, Trey with Lauren stands next to connor and Bren. “Wow! I haven’t seen this since I was a preteen. Oh how I miss those days.”

Connor and Trey both raise their hands giving each other a high five.

Devon with Breyen followed inside with Tremen Saren and Baby. Devon raised his proud hand.“Way to go father!”

Inspector Crouse with his fianc’ee, Elise enters into the room, smiles.“Isn’t that something. Liam with father in practicing their swordsmanship.”

The gathered family on the sideline watching intrigued.

Liam, not mucking about. “You always had to go off on your Null AND Void -adventures, then come back to a home to only just to re-enlist again with your so called loyal words to Mum.“

Sir William, keeping his defense low. “ You have always held hard that against me. I came home with riches beyond measure. Oh the irony of it.”

Liam, throwing his sword back at his father. “Oh Really Father! That’s so ironic of you to say it!!!”

Connor, hearing the clashing of two steal swords. With a big smile. “Well that’s settles it, doesn’t it. Iron sharpens iron, as the good book says.”

With a heavy swing of his sword, Liam bashing his sword hard at his father’s sword, knocking him half way to the floor as Sir William, taking a plunge down ward bringing him to his one knee.

Liam, in brute lips and wide eyed mode of revenge, seeing his father down on his one knee, cleverly pacing back and forth while keeping his steady eye on him, never to waver, waiting for his father’s return to his feet.

Sir William, slowly getting back onto both feet. “Very good Liam. I taught you well. You’re very strong. Strong in strength of hand, skill of technique…but, how agile are you?” Getting back onto his feet, he once again swings his sword at his son, as his son, seeing the incoming steal blade coming within inches of him, swiftly moves out of the way, then, Liam taking his sword, slamming it downwards upon his father’s sword, as his father, redirects his sword swooping his sword up to strike his son’s sword, as Liam, then with a hard direct, hitting strike upon his father’s sword, his father loosing his stance, once again falling to the floor.

Liam, in heavy breath, stands tall in gallant valor. His sword pointing in warning at his father.

Trey, seeing their serious position, stood from his seat in waiting the outcome.

Pastor Connor, fully aware of the reality apart from the pomp of play, steadfastly kept his serious view on them.

Sir William, in heavy breath. Stationed on his two knees, taking his arms, spreading them fully apart in a position of surrender towards his son. “That’s great son.Now what do you say?”

Liam, with low toned wry mouth. “Touché!”

Sir William, with wry smile to him. “Well done my son. You have mastered in your own technique of defense. But how are you in your powers of deduction in reason. Will you strike me down with your sword in my demise, or pitty me in mercy in our surname.”

The family, waiting in silence.

Liam, in grit teeth, in a moment of choice. “Now how does it feel to be down on your knees begging in your own reflection of your long lost family?”

Trey, stood in his own reflection looking at his father and brother.

Pastor Connor stood, went to stand next to Liam. “Liam. My son in law. Do you know the reason why I choose you to come investigate in finding Sir Knight Drake’s hidden signet ring when you first came to Chivalry Chapel? From all other self claimed Detectives on that list to choose from, I chose you because the rest could not even compare to your gallantry. The son of a legendry former Knight, but his son, a master detective in his own legend in his own time, is why you stand here now. Now, only you can decide in both fate’s of you and your father through your sword of valor. But forgiveness will triumph as true winner. Make your choice now son.”

Liam, in a long moment of choice, his glaring eyes at his father, beginning to dull down. Regardless of forgiveness or non forgiveness, puts his sword down to his side placing it into his scabbard. Then,in good sportsmanship, holds out his hand to him. “In my mother’s truce.”

Sir William, placing his hand into his hand. Lifting himself onto his feet. “Well done Liam. Yes, you’re well immersed in your own deductions of reasons.” His hand slipping from his son.

Trey going to the three, stood in support.

The family, dispersing from the room.

Liam, giving his father a straight look of adamance. “Right. From here on. We do things my way.” He leaves the room in haste.
