Later that night…
Tauna, waking up feeling cold around herself of her husband not in bed with her, sits up, gets out of bed to see Liam outside on his knees without coat in the bitter cold, the chilling wind blowing his hair around him. In alert, slipping on her shoes, putting on her winter coat, seeing his left behind trenchcoat on a chair, grabbing for a warm blanket, she steadfastly rushing to him placing the blanket upon his cold shoulders. Crouched down to his eye level. Touching his ice cold hands. “Liam! Your hands are freezing! Why are you out here in the bitter cold. You must come back into our bed to keep warm! Come on!”
Liam, taking her hands. “I gave my mother truce today.”
Tauna, with compassion in her eyes for him. “Yes Liam, I know. but right now we’ve got to go back inside where its warm. Come on.” Helping him get up from the hard cold ground, going back inside. The tapered candles glowing in the foyer with heat warming his body as Tauna guiding him back into their bed.
Tauna and Liam, sitting down on their bed, wrapping the blanket around him,she rubbed his arms until warm again. “What happened to your mother Liam?”
Liam, in his eyes of much sadness, looked down. “She went missing. Just as my Father, even after their nuptials, chose to finally come back home for good. But she had already separated from him, moving out into her own place.
Father stayed for a time, even taught me and Trey the code of chivalry of ethics along with skills in swordsmanship while he was between jobs and searching for her.
But even him and I had our disagreements. But at least our aunt and uncle came to and fro as he went back into recommissioned Knight, once again. Just simply left us- again. We lost touch for many years. Until a few days ago. Really, I am grateful for our aunt and uncle. They were our stability. Until both me and Trey made our choices going into law enforcement in detection. All I could do was to watch over my younger brother to make sure he was in full check.
I personally went in not just for job, but also to try to find our missing mother. But I could not. And here we are now. But fifteen years later, our mother is still missing” His eyes weld in wetted tears.
Tauna, taking her warm gentle hands to comfort his face. “Oh Liam. Come here.” Laying down, in their soft, warm bed, she encouraged him to lay beside her, his head lay in peace onto her chest. Pulling the warm cover over them, she caressed his hair in love and care with her hand.
In the morning,
Liam just coming out of Pastor Connor’s office. Moving onward to his duties sees his father in the corridor. Stops.”Father.” He said cordially.
Sir Wiliams, seeing Liam, stops. “Liam. I hope you are well today.”
Liam, with a slight look of curtesy.“Yes. I am very well thank you. And how are you?” In low tone.
Sir William, addressed. “Well, I am well. I am getting older Liam. My days are short. I’m not as young as I was. With special permission of Pastor Connor Drake has granted my request to stay here in hopes to watch my grandson Devon and Great Grandson William grow up. And in return, in the pastor’s stipulation, I will fulfil my oath to give my last days to protect Chivalry Chapel, but only if you also grant it to me.”
Liam, in caution. “I see.”
Sir William, taking a step. “ Liam. I loved your mother very much. So much that I broke my oath of knight of putting god before me many times to be with her. I am sure you know that feeling with your own wife Tauna.”
Liam, concurred. “Yes, Very much so.”
Sir Willam continued. “When she was with child with you, our secret habit of our intimate gatherings was too great, like many many other times. Like magnets of heated steal, our desire for each other was much too great to be apart. In keeping our secret gatherings, then Trey came along. She loved you both very much. She never once left my side, until our separation in her own home, she then went missing. There wasn’t any clues left behind. She just simply vanished. When I left you and Trey as adults, to fend for yourselves in your livelihoods of your Detective studies, I was on the search for her. I really did try to find her. But I could not. Now I’m humbly asking you to forgive me for those lost years. And will you please grant my stay.”
Liam, in a moment of choice, taking steps to him. Looking him over. “Thank you Father. For telling me the truth. And thank you making me into what I am today. Trey and I have learned much from you. Even in such little time. And you would be amazed the grip my aunty had with the sword in finishing the final teachings to me and Trey. She was a light in our world, and a person not to be reckoned with, according to our uncle. Today. My wife fulfils the touch of my mother now. But Perhaps one day we will find her. You will find your room down the hall in the guest room. Its small but sufficiant. Welcome home Father.”
Sir William, will a look of gratitude, offers his hand to him, as liam, grips it hard, giving each other a manly hug.
Pastor Connor with Bren, going to him. “And Sir William. Don’t forget your key.” Handing the key to him.
Tauna, walking with Devon, Breyen and William, towards her family, goes to Liam.
Trey and Lauren, with Tremen, Saren and baby girl,Kayly coming out from the pastor’s office, seeing them, stood with closure.
Liam, stood with his family. “Everyone. This is Sir William Niles. My Father.”
Everyone gathered around Sir William with welcomed arms.
