A little while later, Wilma and Edith both snooped inside all the kitchen cabinets and didn't locate Dorreen's Voodoo items.
"Let's search the garage," Wilma told Edith.
Edith nodded in agreement and followed Wilma out of the kitchen.
Inside the dining room, Amy, Laurie, and Randall snooped around inside all the drawers in the china cabinet. So far, Dorreen's Voodoo items were not located in that room. While Amy searched around the room, her body was more hunched over.
Wilma and Edith entered the garage and saw ten packed moving boxes at the side of the garage next to Dorreen's nineteen fifty-nine shiny black with black interior Cadillac.
On the other side of the garage were stacks of moving boxes ready to be assembled for packing.
"Well, it looks like we have our work cut out for us," Wilma told Edith while they looked at the stacks of boxes.
Edith didn't appear too thrilled about going through all those boxes.
In one of the bedrooms, Wilbur snooped inside the closet and rummaged through the items on the shelves. So far he didn't locate any of Dorreen's Voodoo items.
In one of the other bedrooms, Dorothy snooped inside all of the dresser drawers. So far she didn't locate any of Dorreen's Voodoo items.
In Dorreen's master bedroom, Barney tiptoed inside and didn't notice someone under the covers in the queen size bed.
He tiptoed toward the bathroom.
The second he got to the bathroom door, he heard someone stir in the bed. He stopped and panic set in his eyes when he saw a person turn over under the covers in the bed.
He rushed into the bathroom for a safe haven.
That person got out of bed in a nightgown down to her knees. She stood by the bed, yawned, stretched, and then walked to the bathroom. That person who got out of the bed was Dorreen.
Barney was nervous while he paced in the bathroom and wondered if he could sneak out of the bedroom.
His eyes widened in panic when he heard footsteps walking toward the bathroom.
Barney frantically looked for a place to hide. He saw the bathtub and jumped inside and pulled the shower curtains close. He squatted down in the tub and remained quiet as a mouse.
Doreen entered the bathroom and lifted the lid to the toilet. She reached under her nightgown and pulled down her panties. She sat down on the toilet.
Inside the bathtub, Barney got curious as to the person in the bathroom, so he cautiously peeked from the shower curtains.
He could only see Dorreen's bare wrinkled legs while she sat on the toilet. He stuck his head out farther from the shower curtains and saw it was Dorreen seated on the throne. She's not dead! He thought to himself while he closed the shower curtains.
He heard a loud fart echo from inside the toilet bowl. Barney quietly snickered like a ninth-grader over the fart sound.
He heard Dorreen pee into the toilet bowl.
He heard Dorreen grunt.
He heard Dorreen grunt louder.
He heard it all come spurting out into the toilet bowl.
Barney sniffed the air, and the smell was awful!
The awful smell soon gave Barney the dry heaves. He couldn't take that horrendous smell any longer. "You stink Doreen!" he yelled out. When he realized what he did, Barney immediately covered his mouth and got scared.
"Ahhhh!" Dorreen screamed out after hearing the sound of Barney in her bathtub.
She jumped up off the toilet, pulled up her panties in a frantic then ran out of the bathroom.
Barney knew he had to scam, so he flung the shower curtains opened and jumped out of the tub.
Dorreen stood by her bed and whipped out a 9mm Smith and Wesson revolver out from under her pillow.
Barney ran as fast as he could out of the bathroom and headed to the bedroom door.
Back in the den, Amy rummaged through a bookcase.
Laurie rummaged through a desk.
Randall rummaged through a wooden chest.
Amy opened up a bottom door at the lower right side of the bookcase and peeked inside. She saw an old faded leather book, a wooden bowl, eight bottles that were half-filled with different colored liquids, and six empty bottles of Herb.
She removed the old faded leather book. She opened up the book, thumbed through the pages and saw it was filled with different potions.
"I found something!" Amy said while she showed Laurie and Randall the book.
"Great!" Randall replied while he watched Amy drop the book inside the cloth bag.
Amy reached inside the bookcase, grabbed the bowl, and noticed it contained a handmade doll made out of wrinkled cloth with white yarn as the hair. She dropped the bowl and doll into her cloth bag. She reached back inside the bookcase, grabbed the eight bottles of different colored liquids, and dropped them into the cloth bag.
A gunshot was heard coming from the bedroom end of the house.
Laurie, Randall, and Amy looked around scared.
Dorothy and Wilbur ran out of the bedroom they searched. They slammed into each other in the hallways and fell on their butts. They quickly got up and ran in a panic down the hall toward the living room.
Wilma and Edith ran out of the garage and headed to the living room.
Amy, Laurie, and Randall ran into the living room at the same time Wilma and Edith ran into the room.
Dorothy and Wilbur ran into the living room in a panic.
"Who fired a gun?" Amy asked in a panic.
Wilma looked around at everybody.
"Where's Barney?" Wilma asked.
"That gunfire came from the bedroom where Barney was searching," Edith replied and looked scared to death.
Everybody looked fearful that Barney was shot.
Dorreen walked into the living room with her revolver pressed hard into the back of Barney's head.
Barney looked scared to death and ready to pee at any moment.
Dorreen glanced over at Amy, and a huge grin grew on her face. "My, my, I'm a master at my trade," she said in a cocky tone.
They all looked at Dorreen like she was a ghost.
Outside across the street, an older woman, named Lizzy, peeked out her living room window and stared at Dorreen's house.
Inside Lizzy's house, she had her cordless phone to her ear while she made a phone call. She continued to peek out her living room window curtains.
"Police. I want to report a scream and gunfire at Dorreen Boudreaux's house at sixteen eighteen Sandbar Lane," she said into the phone.
"And your name ma-am?" the female dispatch replied from the phone.
Lizzy looked nervous. "My name? I'm sorry. I don't want that crazy voodoo lady coming after me," she blurted out then disconnected the call.
Lizzy rushed away from her living room window.
Back in Dorreen's house, Wilma, Dorothy, Edith, Wilbur, and Amy all stared in disbelief at Dorreen.
"Dorreen! You're not dead," Wilma said in disbelief.
"Of course not. I was hoping if I played dead, you would stay away for good. I wanted Amy to live the rest of her life out as an old lady," Doreen replied with a smirk.
"Why are you doing this to me?" Amy asked while her eyes welled up.
"I got sick of Barney refusing my affection and wanting a younger girl," Dorreen replied while she stared at the back of Barney's head. "The kind of smart ass girl that hates old people!" she added while she glared at Amy.
Amy looked ashamed of her past attitude.
Dorreen pushed Barney away and kept her pistol pointed at him.
Barney moved over and stood next to Amy.
Everybody looked shocked with Dorreen's behavior.
"Dorreen! You can't kill him!" Wilma protested.
"Oh yes I can," Dorreen replied then aimed her pistol at Amy. "And then she'll meet her maker," Dorreen added with a smile.
"You'll go to jail for murder," Wilbur told Dorreen.
"Nah. You broke into my house, and I thought you," Dorreen said then fired her pistol at the wall behind Amy and Barney. The right half of the glass in the living room window shattered.
They all jumped startled.
"I thought you were going to kill me. You know, self-defense," Dorreen replied with an evil chuckle.
Wilma, Amy, Barney, Laurie, Randall, Wilbur, Edith, and Dorothy all stood frozen with fear.
Dorreen aimed her revolver at Barney's head.
Amy looked at Barney's scared face then she looked at Dorreen. She got furious. "No!" she cried out while she lunged at Barney and pushed him away.
Dorreen fired her revolver at the same time Barney and Amy landed on the floor.
The left half of the glass in the living room window shattered.
Amy jumped up, pissed and stormed over to Dorreen with fists ready.
Dorreen saw Amy and raised her revolver at Amy's head. She squeezed the trigger but heard nothing since her revolver jammed. Dorreen frantically tried to clear the jam in her revolver. She glanced up the split second she saw Amy's fist coming at her face. It was too late for her to react while Amy punched Dorreen in her mouth.
Dorreen flew back and landed on her butt. She lay on the floor dazed and confused and dropped her revolver.
Her revolver fired off a shot the second it hit the floor.
Everybody jumped in fear of being shot, but the bullet went into the hallway, hitting the wall.
Amy turned around and looked at everybody. "Let's get out of here!" Amy yelled out.
Everybody ran to the front door while Dorreen lay on the floor.
Barney got to the door first and fumbled with the door handle while trying to open it. The rest of the gang was still in motion to run, and they all smashed into Barney. It was a pile-up of senior citizens.
Amy was able to reach out through this pile-up and turn the doorknob. "Let's go geriatrics detectives," Amy cried out when she opened the door.
They all rushed out of Dorreen's house.
Outside Dorreen's house, Wilma, Amy, Barney, Laurie, Dorothy, Edith, and Wilbur ran through the front yard and ran to the sidewalk.
Inside her house, Dorreen got up in a little pain from the living room floor. She glanced around the room and noticed everybody was gone then saw the front door was wide open.
Dorreen looked around at the floor for her revolver. She reached down, grabbed her revolver, and stormed off to the front door.
Dorreen stormed out her front door and saw Amy and the gang while they rushed down the sidewalk. She looked furious while he aimed her revolver at Amy and the gang.
Amy and the gang turned the corner and headed to their cars on the other street. Gunfire was heard, and a bullet ricocheted off the sidewalk by their feet.
Amy lagged and was in extreme pain. She stopped and bent over. Her face cringed in pain, and she buckled over and dropped to the sidewalk with her cloth bag.
Barney, Wilbur, Dorothy, and Edith got inside his Impala.
Wilma, Randall, and Laurie got in her Escort.
Wilma looked at everybody in her car. "Where's Amy?" she asked and got concerned.
Randall back in the direction they ran and saw Amy down on her side, motionless on the sidewalk. "She's hurt!" he cried out then rushed out of the Escort.
Wilma and Laura rushed out of the Escort.
Randall ran down the sidewalk after Amy.
Wilma and Laurie rushed down the sidewalk after Amy.
Barney, Wilbur, Dorothy, and Edith got out of the Impala and rushed down the sidewalk after Amy.
Randall dropped to his knees the second he got to Amy.
Amy looked up at Randall when she sensed he was there. She was in pain and strained her eyes to focus since everything was blurry.
The faint sound of a police siren was heard.
"You okay?" Randall asked while he held Amy's hand.
"It hurts," Amy strained out the words.
"Where?" Randall asked while Wilma and everybody else stood around and watched.
"All inside my body," Amy strained out the words.
"You want to go to the hospital?"
Amy started to feel better. "No, we need to get to Wilma's house. ASAP," Amy replied and sounded older and looked determined to find a reverse potion.
Randall looked worried while he picked up Amy's cloth bag and then helped Amy up to her feet.
The police siren was louder.
Wilma looked around for the police car and saw Dorreen while she rushed down the sidewalk toward them. "We need to git!" she told everybody.
Randall assisted Amy down the sidewalk.
Wilma and everybody else followed Randall and Amy.
Randall got Amy to the Escort while Barney, Dorothy, Edith, and Wilbur got to his Impala.
Dorreen rushed to the corner and saw everybody at the cars. She aimed her revolver and fired off another shot.
The bullet ricocheted off the sidewalk by the cars.
Barney, Dorothy, Edith, and Wilbur got tangled amongst each other while they scrambled to get inside the Impala.
Dorreen looked furious when she saw she missed.
The police siren blared, and tires were heard screeching when the police car stopped at the corner near Dorreen.
"Put down your gun!" one of the police officers yelled at Dorreen the second he jumped out of his car.
Dorreen turned around with her revolver in her hand. She saw two officers with revolvers aimed at her.
"Those people broke into my house and tried to kill me," Dorreen told the officers.
Down the street, Barney, Dorothy, Edith, and Wilbur got inside the Impala.
Wilma and Randall got Amy into the passenger seat of the Escort. Wilma got inside her car and started up the engine the second Laurie and Randall got in the back seat.
Dorreen glanced at the officers then turned around and looked for Wilma and everybody by the sidewalk.
"I said, put down your gun," the police officer yelled at Dorreen.
Dorreen saw Barney's Impala and Wilma's Escort drive down the street. She got pissed and aimed her revolver at the cars. She fired off a bullet that zinged across the top of Barney's Impala.
One of the police officers tackled Dorreen to the ground.
The other police officer rushed over with a pair of handcuffs.
After Dorreen was handcuffed, the police officers brought her up to her feet.
After she was read her Miranda rights, the police officers placed Dorreen in the backseat of their car.
They got inside their car and drove away and headed back to the police station.
It was quiet inside Wilma's car while she raced through the streets of Sun City to get home.
"I can't believe Dorreen faked being dead," Wilma said and banged her steering wheel and was pissed with her former friend.
"She wanted me to stay old and miss out on my youth," Amy said and was also pissed.
"How do you feel, darling?" Wilma asked her while she reached over and held her hand.
"I'm feeling much better. This pain in my body comes and goes," Amy replied.
"I just wished we found Doreen's Voodoo stuff before she tried to kill us," Wilma said she felt terrible that she let Amy down.
"Amy found something that looks promising," Randall said while he looked inside the cloth bag and saw the old faded leather book. He reached inside, grabbed the book, and opened it up. He thumbed through a few pages of the book. "She found a book filled with potions," Randall said while he held up the book.
Wilma looked in the rearview mirror and saw Randall holding up the leather book.
"Yahooo!" Wilma called out excited that they might have struck gold with that book.
