Television drama engages the emotion as well as the intellect. This explains its power to change behaviour. An emotional reaction to a story often leads people to think about themselves and their own attitudes and behaviour. The main focus of this study is to investigate if audience perceptions of TV drama messages have actual behavioural consequences and how this can be effectively controlled to protect TV audience from harmful content.

Aishat is a Communications, Knowledge Management and Capacity Development Specialist with over 15 years of diverse experience in crafting and executing impactful communication strategies and capacity building initiatives across various sectors. Most recently, she spearheaded strategic communications, outreach, and knowledge management efforts for the APPEALS Project—a Federal Government of Nigeria initiative funded by the World Bank—focused on enhancing agricultural productivity and livelihoods for small and medium-scale farmers across six states in Nigeria. With a robust background in media and public relations, she has served in key roles such as Public Affairs Officer and Broadcast Monitoring Officer at Nigeria's National Broadcasting Commission, gaining invaluable insights and honing her skills in media relations and stakeholder engagement. Additionally, her work as a Technical Adviser on New Media to Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture provided her with hands-on experience in social media management and stakeholder engagement, contributing to effective communication strategies at the highest levels of government. Currently, she is the Managing Director of Four Icons Premium Ltd, a multidisciplinary consulting firm she co-founded. She is leveraging her expertise in storytelling, copywriting, advertising, publishing, and capacity building etc., to deliver compelling communication and knowledge management solutions for a diverse clientele. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Mass Communication & Theatre Arts from the University of Benin, and currently pursuing a PhD in Media Arts at the University of Abuja.
