“Drive! Drive! Please you have...”
“Shut up.” Cord said briskly looking over his shoulder at him.
“No, no, no! You don’t understand...”
“Shut up, I said.”
Gone was his easy friendly going tone and the youthfulness in his eye from earlier. He glared at Dylan with a head shake before facing forward.
“Please, deputy sir...”
Dylan stopped pleading, he didn’t hear them coming but he didn’t want to look out the windows. He sat up looking into the rear view to get Cord to look him in the eyes as he spoke.
“...muh...muh...my friends they were, they...it...it them...” Dylan said with a blubber and fit of tears between each word.
“Will you shut up?” Cord said looking at Dylan through the rear view.
His eyes were steely and his voice was raspy with an authoritative tone. Dylan felt his leg go warm as he pissed himself.
“I told you boys lots of history around here isn’t so bloody and horrible, but most of it around here is I’m afraid. Take General Nedflow the man who founded my town, lots of blood on his hands. Not just the in the war either, no sir. He came from a, shall we say, special family.”
Dylan could smell his urine drenched pants and started to gag. Cord laughed and
waited for Dylan to finish coughing and choking on his own phlegm before he continued speaking.
“After we kicked the British out he sought out his dream home, for his kind of course. A wolf den is what a human would call it. Hey you fellas seemed really smart, but did none of you at all realize Nedflow is wolf den spelled backwards?” Cord asked turning to look at Dylan directly.
