The roof above them was without holes and looked free of rot. Still though Max felt a fear grip him as he flashed his light here and there, scared he might wake up a bat or something and have it come swooping down at him to attack. He switched his camera to night vision as he filmed.
Dylan told Max to go look around but it was an absent minded request, he too felt caught up in the total wonder of this undiscovered relic of macabre history.
The fear Dylan felt was of missing out on being the first to discover this place and he found himself too distracted to worry about anything else. The barn walls were bare, only cobwebs and water stains were on them. The floor was creaky and covered with dry leaves, Vlad was looking down to the ground intently.
“What are you doing?” asked Dylan.
“Looking for blood stains, they found a cow and part of a torso in here. The roof is still up and the floor is dry so we might be able to see the blood stains.”
“Oh, come on.” said Max shakily.
“No he maybe right,” said Dylan. “ya know Amazon sells luminol spray. Vlad we could come back with some and a black light and try to find exactly where the bodies were. Shit man it’ll be like CSI, we could even live stream it on
Vlad and Dylan were suddenly pumped as Max felt some of his fear ebb away, but that attic like smell was glued to the hairs of his nostrils turning his stomach.
He wanted to be as happy as those two but that smell made him want to gag so he just took shallow breaths as he filmed. The place was empty, no tools or equipment was in here, only dust, leaves and rat shit.
“Why don’t we get some exterior shots?” said Dylan.
“Yeah, OK.” said Max who needed a breath of fresh air.
“I’ll go with you.” said Vlad.
Dylan went outside as well, standing just beyond the open doors as the other two went around the side. Max felt better in the cool night air, the stale smell was not as powerful. The barn stood almost two stories tall, but looked much taller through Max’s camera screen. Vlad walked beside him as he took his own pictures with his phone.
