6. FOCUS ON WHAT YOU WANT TO HAPPEN
Spirit cannot overcome inertia. We have to take action, and for most of us, we need some kind of "fuel" to get up and get going. That fuel is our motivation or inspiration, and there are countless places to find that. You may feel motivated by the desire to provide a better life for your family. You may feel inspired by the achievements you have seen others create and want that for yourself.
What perspective can you work on in your own life? Do you have ongoing problems at work or in your family?
Step aside and be the observer in your life for a while.
Take a look not only at what others are saying and doing but see if you can figure out what they must be thinking and feeling in order to provoke that kind of behavior.
Are they feeling threatened, and lashing out because they are scared their life is getting out of control? Are they worried over money and fear is pushing them to snipe at your success or undermine your work to bring you down to their level?
All of us behave the way we do because we have a very complex mindset made up of thousands of beliefs, experiences, judgments and assessments of our life up until now and our anticipation of the years to come.
After you spend some time looking on what others focus on and what they are trying to get out of life, turn that same curiosity toward yourself and see where your behavior reflects ideas and memories that aren't helpful at all, and in fact may be sabotaging your best efforts and producing results you are unhappy with.
When we come from a motive of loving interest in our growth and the growth of others, we can step up to a higher level of awareness, and see so many beautiful opportunities to make this world an even happier and better place for all to live in.
