We use it up excessively when we’re young,

and as we turn 30 (this is a rough figure), we

start to notice that things have changed. Now

we have to pay for our naughtiness and

mistakes. And it’s not something to weep for.

It’s more of a learning tool. Childhood is over;

now we have to take responsibility for our

actions. If we aren’t mindful enough of our

bodies, we’ll have to pay.

Our organism is designed to restore itself

while we’re sleeping. But this happens only if

we sleep during the hours from 10 p.m. to 2

a.m. Ayurvedic science suggests that sleeping

during this period is vitally important, for it

gives us a chance to restore both physically

and emotionally.

This time our liver and gallbladder get

activated. Apart from digesting food, these

organs are also responsible for detoxifying the

body, balancing the hormones, and processing

the accumulated emotions. If we eat heavy

meals late at night, these functions get

disturbed, and all the energy goes for

digestion. Not releasing the emotions during

the night, we build up stress in our life.
