CHAPTER 30 – LOVE LETTER TO SURVIVAL

The darkness was a thick, suffocating blanket that wrapped around Meera, pulling her deeper into a world of secrets, lies, and twisted games. Her mind raced, every thought a frantic whisper against the storm that was brewing inside her. Her body was bruised, her heart shattered into pieces she didn’t know how to pick up, but there was something more—a hunger, a need to survive, to claw her way out of this mess.

Aarav.

She had thought she knew him, thought she could trust him, but everything had changed. Everything. The man she loved, the man she had bled for, was no longer just a man. He was a monster. A god in a broken world, a man who controlled not only people but their very souls. And she... she was a puppet dancing on his strings. But Meera wasn’t the same woman who had fallen into his arms. She wasn’t the girl who believed in fairy tales, in love that could conquer all. No. She was a survivor.

She sat in the cold, dimly lit room, her fingers tracing the edges of a crumpled letter, the ink still wet from the night before. It was his letter—Aarav’s confession, his twisted love letter to her. Every word was a weight she couldn’t lift, every sentence a reminder of just how far they had fallen. The letter was a roadmap to the heart of his darkness. To his games, his manipulations, his betrayal. But it was also a plea. A plea to come back to him, to trust him again.

Meera’s eyes flickered to the door. She could feel him out there, lurking in the shadows like a predator, waiting for the moment when she would break, when she would surrender once more to his power. But that wasn’t going to happen.

She would survive.

She would escape.

She would fight.

The words of the letter echoed in her mind as her fingers clenched around the paper, tearing it slightly in the process. Each word felt like a cut to her soul, each line another wound on her heart. "I will always love you, Meera. No matter what happens, no matter what we do, you will always be mine. Don’t you see? You belong to me. We were always meant to be. It’s our fate. You can’t escape it. You can’t escape me. Not now. Not ever."

Her breath hitched. Aarav was dangerous.

But what frightened her even more was how much she still wanted him. How much she craved him, despite everything.

But that wasn’t love.

It was obsession. Control. A game. And she wasn’t going to be a part of it anymore.

She shoved the letter into the back of her pocket, a fierce determination burning in her chest.

The last piece of her that still belonged to him was gone. She wouldn’t let him break her anymore.

She was no longer the girl who begged for his affection. She was no longer the girl who worshipped him in the dark corners of his world. She was something else now. She was the survivor.

But survival came at a price. And the price would be blood.

A heavy knock on the door shattered the silence, pulling her out of her thoughts. Her heart skipped a beat. Aarav.

She didn’t need to see him to know it was him. She could feel his presence. The pull of his dark energy, the way he could invade her space without even touching her. He was always there, like a shadow, a constant reminder of the chaos he brought into her life.

“Meera.”

His voice was low, laced with something dangerous. It was calm, but it held an edge—one she couldn’t ignore. “Open the door. We need to talk.”

Her hands trembled as she reached for the handle.

But she hesitated. Just for a moment. Was she ready?

The door creaked open, and there he stood—Aarav. Dark, brooding, dangerous. His eyes locked onto hers, a mixture of longing and something darker, something more terrifying.

He stepped closer, and she felt herself instinctively step back, her body on alert. Was this it?

“I’m not going anywhere, Meera,” he whispered, his voice as smooth as silk, but it cut through her like a knife. His hand reached for her, brushing the hair from her face in a gesture that seemed intimate, but she knew better. This wasn’t love.

This was power. Manipulation. Control. He was playing God again. But this time, she wasn’t going to play along.

“I don’t need you anymore, Aarav,” she said, her voice steady, though her heart raced. "I’m done with you. Done with all of this."

His eyes darkened, his jaw tightening as his fingers curled into fists at his sides. The anger was palpable. It rolled off him in waves, but it wasn’t enough to intimidate her anymore. “You think you can leave?” he growled. “You think you can just walk away from this?”

She took a step back, her body tensing as she felt the full force of his anger.

But this time, she wasn’t afraid. “I’m not walking away, Aarav,” she replied. “I’m running. I’m surviving. And there’s nothing you can do to stop me.”

His eyes flashed with something dark, dangerous. For a split second, she thought he was going to lash out, to strike her down in an instant. But then, the rage faded, replaced with a quiet, terrifying calm.

“You will never be free, Meera,” he whispered, his voice low and menacing. “You’ll always come back to me. We’re bound by fate. And I will make sure you never forget that.”

A shiver ran down her spine. There it was again—his obsession, his need to control, to possess. He was trying to break her.

But Meera wasn’t afraid anymore. She wasn’t going to be his puppet. Not this time.

She turned away, her hand gripping the doorknob tightly.

“I’ve already left, Aarav,” she said, her voice steady, filled with something new—strength. “And you won’t get me back.”

The door slammed shut behind her, and for the first time in a long while, she felt free. She didn’t know where the road would take her, but she was ready. Ready to survive. Ready to escape the chains he had bound her with.

And as the night consumed her, she knew one thing for sure: Aarav would never have her. Not again.
