Police later located a vehicle matching the generally peaceful shoplifters’ description at North Curtis Road and West Irving Street. All three were inside drinking their loot.
Following an investigation, Gardiner was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail for Felony Aggravated Assault and Illegal Firearm Possession. The juvenile suspect was taken to the Ada County Detention Center, where Gardiner is being held without bail after being informed that he has also been charged with a federal hate crime, which carries a twenty year maximum sentence.
Alvarodo was taken to a nearby hospital, treated, and released.
