Chapter 5
Day 5
Mr. Nortreus Got Ready for
Church Service
Very early in the morning, around 6 AM, the alarm on the sideboard rang, waking Mr. Nortreus, who had not yet risen.
Since he had invited Mrs. Medjina to accompany him to Church, he would certainly attend on Sunday.
“Oh! What time is it?” He exclaimed as he got up and stretched.
“Dear alarm, I heard you loud and clear. Can you please stop ringing for now?” He added as he sat on the edge of the bed.
“What am I doing? Today is Sunday, and it's nearly 7!”
“I forgot how quickly time passes,” he remarked, rushing to get ready.
Although it was the fifth day of the week, which was Sunday, he was preparing to go to Church.
Meanwhile, heavy snow was falling outside. With time slipping away and Mrs. Medjina expected to pick him up, he needed to hurry before it was too late.
“I must hurry! Let's get going!” He declared a few minutes later while taking a shower. It’s Snowing!
As the snow fell heavily, numerous children emerged from their homes and apartments to play together.
Although it was cold, it was a delightful time for those children, along with their siblings and friends.
“Mother! Father! It's Sunday! It's Sunday!” Celine told her parents shortly after getting out of bed and noticing many children playing outside.
“I know today is Sunday, sweetheart!” Her mother responded.
“Are we going to church this morning?” Her father asked.
“Hun?”
“Can we go to Church next Sunday because I'm busy with laundry?” Her mother replied.
“Okay, fine,” her father said.
“Father! Mother! Can I go play with some of my other friends from the neighborhood outside?” Celine asked her parents, as she was too impatient to wait to play in the snow.
“Yes, but be careful!” Both of her parents answered.
“Alright, thanks! So cool!” She exclaimed and dashed outside.
Even Kayla was spotted outside her apartment playing with other children in the snow, though not in the same neighborhood as Celine.
