Mrs. Medjina Rang the
Doorbell Downstairs
While Mr. Nortreus was dressing in his room, he heard the doorbell ring downstairs.
“It's not the doorbell ringing,” he remarked, questioning whether the sound he heard was indeed the doorbell.
He was correct; it was the doorbell ringing. “Oh, I was right.”
“It's the doorbell ringing,” he repeated, moving towards the window to look outside.
“That car parked by the gate resembles Mrs. Medjina's car.”
“Did she come to pick me up?”
“Yes, I believe so,” he responded once more.
In fact, it was Mrs. Medjina who had arrived to take him to church.
She rang the doorbell so she could let him out.
“Mr. Nortreus, where are you?”
“I know you heard me, but could you open the door?” She called out.
Shortly after, he hurried downstairs to open the door for her.
“Hi Mrs. Medjina! Good morning my darling!” He greeted her.
“Good morning to you, too!”
“But where have you been all this time?” She asked.
“Thank God! Look who’s here!”
“The most beautiful black woman I have ever seen is finally here!” He replied with a smile.
“Yeah! Right!” She said as she stepped inside.
“The reason I took my time to open the door for you is that I’ve finally gotten dressed.”
“Did you know you look very pretty again this morning, Mrs. Medjina?”
“I’m glad we’re next to each other again!” He told her.
“Thanks for the compliments!”
“I’m happy we’re next to each other again too, okay?” She responded.
“So, are you ready now?”
“Can we leave now?” She added.
“Can you give me a few minutes to have breakfast and grab my Bible from my room first?” He asked her.
“But how come you haven’t had breakfast yet while time is running out?” She replied. “I won’t take long, just give me a few minutes.” He spoke.
Mr. Nortreus Offered Mrs.
Medjina Breakfast
“And you?”
“Have you had breakfast already?”
“Would you like to eat and drink?” Mr. Nortreus asked as they both headed to the dining room.
“No, thank you.” Mrs. Medjina replied. “Come on! You don’t need to be shy,” he encouraged her.
“Mr. Nortreus, I had breakfast before I came here.”
“Do you have fruits?” She inquired.
“Which fruit do you prefer?” He asked her. “I would like bananas, grapes, or strawberries.”
“Thank you!” She responded. “Very well! Your request has been approved!” He informed her as he served the fruits she requested.
“Thank you, sir!” She replied.
While he was having his breakfast, it appeared that she had gone to his room to grab his Bible for Church.
“Mrs. Medjina, why don't you join me for breakfast?” He asked.
“What do you think, huh?” He inquired.
“Why not ask me to go grab your Bible instead of inviting me to sit down?”
“Do you know what time it is?” She responded.
“My Bible is on my desk in my room.”
“Do you know where my room is?” He asked.
“Don't worry, I'll locate it!” She assured him.
“Thank you for your assistance! I truly appreciate it!” He replied.
