‘You are kidding me!’ jeered Stu. But then he turned victoriously to Bob, ‘We've been engaged.’
For awhile the two boys stood confronting each other. Chris unconsciously dispelled the tension as the two peers looked ready to pounce at each other’s throats at any moment now. He gave a hit on the drum proclaiming once again, ‘WE’VE GOT A JOB!’ This made Stu come back to his senses and he spoke to Annie again as he obviously didn’t want to even look at Bob, ‘Thanks, Annie! Thanks a lot. Tell Louie – Louie, right? Tell him we’ll be ready by the end of next week. We have to work on the music first.’
Annie shook her head, ‘He wants you on Monday!’
‘MONDAY?’ the four of them stood there gawking. Stu looked the most astounded of them but after thinking awhile he said they’d be there then. This was where Bob also gave in and retreated back to the piano where he took a copy from the song to study. Annie smiled and was ready to leave when Stu stopped her and gave her a kiss on her cheek expressing his gratitude. She was really moved but had to go now although she could give up a galaxy just to stay a little bit there watching them working.

Music, like everything else in this universe, needs love and care. When it is tiny and little – in the cradle of an idea, a phrase or just several bars – it needs constant encouragement and repetition so that it flows smoothly. It has a character of its own as well as its own needs, which have to be expressed in the most natural and pleasant manner –
just like with a human.
‘It’s still not as smooth as it should be.’
‘The 98th try might be more successful then the 97th.’
Music has its moods. It is sometimes happy, it is sometimes sad or tearful but sometimes it can also change its moods for no particular reason – a real lady. ‘I told you -
this is the sad part. We can put this in a minor key.’
‘Yes, let’s play it from the beginning. From the 12th bar on – in minor.’
Music has a sense of humor. Sometimes it can be really very funny. ‘We have room here for 7 syllables only.’
‘Then the lyrics don’t quite fit.’
‘Yeah, and how do you rhyme ‘compassion’?’
‘With ‘a nude session’, of course!’
Laughter! Music is laughter first and foremost. And joy, too. It is not by accident that old people have this saying: ‘Those who sing cannot think wrong’.
