In her room, too excited to sleep, Annie was sitting on the floor contemplating Stu’s poster.

‘We’ll go to the shop. I don’t know how you can have a new face out of the shop but I’ll have a new face, I promise. And maybe… baby… you will love me some day.’

Outside the day was breaking.

The dorm had a common kitchen room on the first floor. It was seldom used because there was the canteen in the main building and also because what was in the fridge or in the cupboards was really… common ground. When she started here, Jessie had the good intention of supplying herself with healthy food rather than eat whatever she might be offered at the canteen and she stored tons of yogurt and diet cheese in the fridge until she figured out that it practically disappeared the moment she put it there. There was one good thing about the common kitchen, though. There were always unlimited quantities of coffee stored and with a bit of luck you could also find a bottle of milk in the fridge or in the worst case – powder-cream. For it was a mutual silent agreement among the students – there must be coffee at any given time, day or night – depending on the examinations session, always, so in fact everybody really contributed to keeping a decent amount in stock.

Jessie was making coffee, when Annie came by the door, understandably, very, very sleepy. She hadn't managed to sleep more then 5 hours that night. Unlike her, Jessie looked fresh and well, just as always. She handed Annie a cup of coffee, cheering her up,

‘Good morning!’

‘Good morning!’ murmured Annie, taking a look at the mug. ‘It looks like a drink from a black hole!’

Jessie laughed. Annie laughed, too. Annie enjoyed Jessie’s ability for a hearty laugh whenever the occasion allowed it.

‘This was a good one,’ was Jessie’s comment this time. ‘If it’s too strong for you, you can get some milk with it. We’ve been lucky today – there IS plenty of milk.’

‘This stuff with milk? No way!’

‘They say that people who drink it black and sweet are good lovers.’

‘Yes, I’ve also read it on the Internet.’

Jessie was busy rummaging in the cupboards for some biscuits but couldn’t conceal her surprise, ‘Oh, they are posting it on the Internet already? These guys will kill me.
