The Offspring of Frankenstein

When the apartment is filthy,

Food tastes bland,

And there is no babe under the comforter,

The misery of a man is great

In such a situation.

Frankenstein knew the mystery of nature,

And so, full of delight, the doctor created

A male creature from a corpse

That could breathe and move.

I’m going to try something like that!

But I don’t need a monster or a man;

Instead I need an obedient woman

With whom I can do something.

Maid! Maid!

Without a blemish,

You shall become.

You will love me;

Lie at my feet,

That will be your job here on earth.

I would never dare

Dig up anything in the cemetery.

That’s disgusting and sacrilegious.

Instead, I steal from the fashion shop

At night, in a few days,

A life-size window mannequin.

I know the doctor’s work.

Listen, with strength of mind,

I will soon create a being

According to an occult custom.

Visually, it won’t be an old broom,

But a beautiful maiden.

I’ve never been married;

Loneliness is not alien to me,

Sometimes beer and wine help,

But even so, there’s nothing like a willing wife.

On a clear winter’s night,

My experiment begins.

It’s a top secret,

Otherwise, everyone would have laughed

And said, He’s crazy!

Stuck on the top of the plastic doll

A gorgeous blonde wig.

I take away her nakedness—look!

With these exquisite pieces of clothing.

Maid! Maid!

Without a blemish

You shall become

And be called Lilly.

On the bedsheet, the white one,

I will witness your birth.

Victor Frankenstein was Swiss,

Had gone to Ingolstadt.

Electricity and no spiritual power

Brought his creature to life.

The attic is my place of research.

With magic, spirit, and voodoo paraphernalia

My servant shall come to life

There on the freshly made bed.

A mirror hangs in this room.

If it breaks into pieces,

Happiness is displaced,

One believes that disaster threatens life.

Should I take it down?

No, I’ll risk it and leave it alone,

And take a sip of wine.

With the sound of digital drums and scented candles

The necessary atmosphere comes.

Can I get over a failure?

Or will I be better than Frankenstein?

If it really works, then what?

Will the world then think

I am a man of genius?

Hardly! What I suspect,

People smell fraud

Or declare me plain crazy!

As the full moon peeps through the hatch,

The dummy lies mute and stiff on the bed,

Just at the right time for the ceremony.

The yellowed spell book is opened,

And the first attempt is made.

It is immediately crowned with success!

She breathes! She moves and moans!

Suddenly, she becomes lively

And jumps off the mattress.

She pushes past me to the wall,

The mirror magically attracts her.

Yes, look, girl, how beautiful you are!

That figure, that pretty face,

Your fine hair, blond, and long.

Now give thanks to your creator!

This being was pure plastic,

Alive now, warm and mine,

Not a trace of ugliness,

Brazenly ignored the command.

How can that be?

It hurts my soul!

Please come, you hottie!

Let me embrace you, wrap you up!

And gussy up to yourself later!

Now fulfill my will!

In front of the mirror,

Are you braiding a plait?

Come to me instead;

Forget your head!

I called out to the spirits,

And a lot must have gone wrong.

Or is it not the voodoo cult at all?

Is it just the reflection?

I may not believe it,

But she can’t help it!

Beauty is important to her,

But she ought to be serving

the master quickly.

Like the young Narcissus, an anti-hero,

My chick is in love with herself.

Full of rage not to obey me,

I will destroy the stupid mirror

In front of her eyes!

Away from the mirror, away!

From now on, you will take care of the Lord!

And with this harsh word,

The mirror is thrown on the floor.

Splinter!

It shatters into a thousand pieces,

And after a while,

Lilly was tired of my commands,

And said goodbye.

Bitter!

But what the hell?

Eve didn’t listen to her maker either!

Blimey! My experiment went flooey.

Never to be seen again, you stubborn broad!

Have a good trip!

I regret that I created you

And gave you a life.

I only hope

You will quickly become

What you once were:

Lifeless and biodegradable plastic.
