This story, set in the 24th century, tells of a private investigator living on Mars. Alien races and new technologies are woven into a believable story filled with plots and alliances. Christopher Black is hired by Intergalactic Mining to investigate rumors of an upcoming ‘corbinite’ heist. Corbinite creates the energy needed for ‘faster that light’ travel and force field technology. Unfortunately, he arrives too late and must track the fuel to prevent its being used to destroy an inhabited planet. Chris allies with a sentient robot, and makes contact with alien races.
