Stevie walked up to the plate, his heart pounding with
excitement. The pitcher, a sleek black cat from the Panthers,
wound up and threw the ball. Stevie swung his bat with all his
might and; crack! The ball soared into the sky and hit the left
field wall. The crowd erupted in cheers as Stevie ran around the
bases, his little paws moving as fast as they could.
As he rounded third base, like Freddie Freeman, Stevie saw his
friends and family in the stands, waving and cheering him on. He
felt a surge of pride and happiness. When he finally slid into
home plate, the umpire shouted, "Safe!" Stevie's teammates
lifted him up on their shoulders, celebrating their victory.
Just as the celebration was at its peak, Stevie felt a gentle
nudge. He opened his eyes to see his best friend, Timmy, smiling
down at him.
"Wake up, Stevie," he said softly. "It's time for dinner."
Stevie stretched and yawned, feeling a warm glow from his dream.
He might not have really been at a baseball game, but in his
heart, he knew he was a true champion.
