63 AN ULTRA VIOLENT FAIRY TALE

“I told you I’m not a wizard.” she said quietly as she knelt beside the fairy.

She put an arm under Glitterbelle so she could sit up, but she pulled away roughly from her.

“Come on, sit up I’ll get your wings back on and we can get out of here.” said Kickswitch.

“No.” she said looking up at her with defiant eyes that still showed red.

Kickswitch looked up in exacerbation and made a high pitch painful sounding laugh herself.

“Why? You don’t have to die, we can both walk away from this.”

Glitterbelle didn’t answer right away, she reached up and touched the wizard’s cheek.

“My kind can’t love. I don’t know why we can’t. We can fuck,” she said breathing in a whistle. “we can devour, we can kill, we can do so much, but we can not love. It is a magic that the natural can not figure out and the preternatural can not have.”

The fairy barked out a cough that sounded like something tore inside of her. Her lips were painted red with blood but she continued talking.

“I can not love because I still wish to hurt that woman who is in love with Luke. And she’s only doing what I would do for love but I still want to crush her head with my hands until her skull is just bits of bone. You could forgive such an act even though it may hurt because you have love in your heart.”

Glitterbelle took the hand that held hers and kissed the finger tips in a motherly kiss.

“You are a wizard, not because of what gifts you may have or the things you build and invent, but because you can love even a creature such as me, like a mother does her own child no matter what evil that child may do. Isn’t that what is required of the pink wizard?”

“Yes.” she said softly.

“Then please, take my pain away.” she said leading her hand to the blade in her back.
