36 AN ULTRA VIOLENT FAIRY TALE

“Well where to start? This psychotic bitch is coming for my brother, through my club tearing down the walls behind her. It’ll be most of my men doing the fighting with real weapons using ammo that isn’t fucking cheap, while your men fight using crossbows with tiny arrows and those fucking hand cannons that look like a kids toy. And I’m supposed to give you a fairy wing for the privilege of this help?”

“No. You’re giving me the wing because I’m not going to call in a fire dragon to burn your club to the ground and turn the entire city into a bon fire big enough to make it look like the sun has risen. The privilege you’re paying for is me to forget this place once I have a wing and that bitch’s head on a pike.

Understood?”

He put out his hand, hoping Eric didn’t call his bluff. Oh, The Lady would most assuredly send one of her fire drakes to destroy this entire city if she did not get the fairy wings. But Paradine was sure Rance would probably be dragging his dead body out of the castle by the time her beast took flight. Seeing that he didn’t have much choice, Eric agreed.

The row homes Kickswitch and her friends lived in were strange narrow looking buildings that Glitterbelle found oddly charming. It was just the five of them living out here. The two with dark eyes and fair complexions were indeed siblings.

“I’m Lenny Robots and this is my sister, Nelly Robots.” he said with a nervous awkward grin.

“Hi.” said Nelly.

The Black woman nodded and smiled pointing at the name on her coveralls.

“Just like the tag says, I’m Sandy, Sandy Boucher.”

“I’m Eliza Cavendish.” said the young woman wearing the gingham dress.

None of them had ever seen a fairy before, though Kickswitch had befriended a witch named Galadriel with blazing green eyes whom she’d met walking in the forest but that was some time ago. They stood silently watching her, as her nostrils started to noticeably flare as the scent of cooking food filled the air.

“Well I bet you’re hungry, Glitterbelle.” said Kickswitch.
