I am the scientist in charge of the infamous Project Adam, so natural y, General Az was furious at me.
“We need to get to the bottom of this'” He screamed. My ear cannot take it any more. Actual y my E-Eye displayed an auditive warning for reaching unhealthy decibel levels. “Your droids are useless and I wil file them for disposal” He said as he walked away.
Az wanted to dispose them off but the emperor, back on Earth, ordered an investigation.
Project Adam was developed for battlefield domination, There is the alpha droid, which we sent orders to, and fol owing droids fol ow it’s guidance. That way we can cal an objective, say, take over an enemy camp. Alpha droid decides the best way to take it down and droids fol ow the alpha’s orders. We cal it the droid swarm.
Yesterday, General Az ordered the retake of the city in the Utopia Region. Everything was going as planned, we took it back but at some point they stared blankly. Stil as death. Enemy took advantage of this and fled. So why did they stood stil ? Or better said, what happened?
Day 2, 03/03/4thE 0932
The bureaucracy of a battle malfunction is treated as a war trial. Not because we need to interrogate a stupid droid but as a formality for the war Generals who need to be present and gather al possible information and report back to the Emperor's HQ on Earth. Droids answer direct questions we ask in the form of facts. Is faster and easier than extracting their memory to see what happened. So we proceed with a trial. Only a formality. We located Droid No. 3141, the alpha on said operation, in the middle of the room so scientists and war generals could sit down al around him, Az in the center facing me and me facing 3141. Begin trial.
“No. 3141 you failed to fol ow orders and eliminate enemy encampment.” I said “With the lacking fire power the enemy got away”
“I am sorry,” 3141 said
There was a bitter silence. Not the answer we expect.
“You … are sorry?” I asked again.
“I have no excuse for what I did,” He said.
