“I see, so, how can I help you?” I asked.
“Do not interrupt me” Said Officer Gary walking back and forth in the same line.
“I understand you are a respected old retired employee for the New Order Mr Cee, and I also understand that, in your right mind, you asked for a home outside the city wal s, which is weird but stil , you are level three” he took a breath. ”And that implies certain benefits from regular citizens such as ease in prosecution, but i gotta ask… did you suffer from any werewolf transformation during the last 30 days?”
I knew that question would come. Of course I'd deny it. In exchange for economic stability, protection and shelter people voluntarily sign to the NO as citizens level 1, you can ascend levels, 5 being the highest before you can take diplomatic jobs. This is the new world order we live in.
Fisher continued. “Now, public displays of magic are somewhat forgivable as you already know”
He said walking back and forth in my living room. “We know sometimes things can come out of hand, this is nothing new to us, but between us, stil punishable” He paused, then continued,
“Unless you decide it is not a big deal and surrender a little, we may say, under-the-water fee for us” he said proudly, “let’s cal it a restoring-trust fee, in case of proven guilty”
A bribe he meant and not a cheap one.
“But in this specific case I need a little more of your help to al ow myself not to take this case any further” He said. “Given the fact that your beloved neighbor reported an il egal werewolf transformation along with a…” he hesitated for a second trying to look for the exact words to say
“... marital discussion, between a man and a red headed woman, we were forced to come and pay you a visit, do you now understand?
“Are you implying I'm lying to the NO sir?” I pretended to be offended.
“We are not a dictatorship Mr. Cee, you can fuck whoever you want as long as it’s not state property.” Gary said.
“Fuck you” i said.
“Watch your mouth citizen, know the ground your stepping, you know we are looking for her” He said
