MYSTERY BABYLON

JESUS IS THE ALPHA AND OMEGA—THE

REVELATION IS THE REVELATION OF

CHRIST AND THE BEGINNING AND THE

ENDING OF ALL THINGS GOD PURPOSED

FOR CREATION. CHRIST WAS THERE IN

THE BEGINNING AS THE WORD WHEN

GOD CREATED THE HEAVENS AND THE

EARTH. CHRIST WILL RETURN AT THE

END OF THIS PRESENT AGE AS KING OF

KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS IN ORDER

TO BRING EVERYTHING THAT HE

CREATED UNDER HIS AUTHORITY AND

CONTROL.

MYSTERY BABYLON

AND UPON HER FOREHEAD WAS A NAME

WRITTEN MYSTERY, BABYLON, THE

GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS

AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

Revelation 17:6.

In Revelation 17:18 the angel which carried John into the Wilderness to show him “Mystery Babylon” said that Mystery Babylon was a city that reigned over the kings of the earth.

Besides being a city Mystery Babylon is also a system.

It is known as the Babylonian System. The Babylonian 49

System represents all the geopolitical, military, religious, and economical structures in the world. There has been much written about Mystery Babylon regarding her influence in geopolitical and other worldly affairs and the Babylonian System the nations embrace.

Many think that Mystery Babylon is the Catholic Church. Others think she is the European Union, the One World Church, or some other cult or religious organization. However, the Bible tells us that Mystery Babylon represents a city. Vatican City is considered to be a nation in and of itself and does fit the description of Mystery Babylon in some ways, however it is not that city.

Ancient Babylon was not just a city but a nation which ruled over many of the nations on the earth at one time.

It was the “capitol” of the Babylonian Empire. Babylon was once the largest city and nation in the world.

Babylon was located in what is known today as the country of Iraq. It is no longer a city today but just an archeological site.

The title “Mystery Babylon” tells us that she is not actually Babylon but a type and shadow of the ancient City of Babylon. Both naturally and prophetically Mystery Babylon does possess some of the same characteristics of ancient Babylon.

At the time John “penned” the Book of Revelation Ancient Babylon had long since lost its prominence in world affairs and had become nothing but a dark memory of the past.

At the zenith of her power, Ancient Babylon was the center of world political, religious, economic, and social systems just as Egypt was during the times of the Pharaohs. A city is not just a conglomeration of people, edifices, and road systems assembled together in a certain geographical area.

Cities also possess political, economic, religious, and cultural institutions and systems with rules and regulations which define its identity. Mystery Babylon and the Babylonian System like Ancient Babylon is an economic, multi-cultural multi-religious, multi-political system.

The Bible tells us that “Mystery Babylon was arrayed in purple and scarlet color and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of fornication: and upon her head was the name written Mystery Babylon.” (See Revelation 17:3-5). This speaks of her economic power and prowess and her sins and fornications.

Mystery Babylon is no longer a mystery. She sits as a queen on a throne of debauchery and evil. Like Ancient Babylon she has been weighed in the balance and found wanting.

THE TOWER OF BABEL

To learn more about Mystery Babylon we must go back to the writings about Ancient Babylon in the Book of Genesis and compare notes. In the Book of Genesis we can find types and shadows that enlighten our 51

understanding of many prophetic and end of the age events.

Genesis 11:4-9 tells us “And they said, go to let us build a city whose tower may reach unto heaven; and let us make a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men built. And the Lord said behold, and the people are one, and they all have one language; and this they begin to do, and now nothing will be restrained from them to do. Go to, let us go down and confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. So, the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of the earth: and they left off to build the city, therefore the name of it is called Babel.”

The City of Babylon was built in the area where the Tower of Babel was being erected by Nimrod. The word

“babel” means “confusion.” Babylon means “City of Confusion.” According to the writer of Genesis all people on the earth spoke the same language at that time.

They had “assembled” together for the purpose of

“making a name for themselves in heaven.” I have read that their purpose in building the “tower to heaven” was to worship Satan the God of this world and the Second Heaven. It is impossible for mankind to build a tower to the Third Heaven where God dwells.

The tower the people were constructing was their effort to reach “the heavens” through their own works.

We see this same effort in many churches today where Christians believe they can get to Heaven by their works.

They have a “works based” theological mandate which 52

like the building of the Tower of Babel is an abomination to God.

Many pastors in churches today are more interested in promoting themselves and their own agendas than the will of God for their churches. They are more absorbed in making a name for themselves through their “church affiliations” and the “beautiful edifices” they have built than they are in preaching the truth.

Many believe that their “church projects” and programs will help them to reach their heavenly (actually earthly) aspirations and goals. However, what is more important in the Kingdom of God is changing hearts and saving souls.

The City of Babylon eventually grew into a mighty nation and a great Empire. The city was named Babylon because it is the place where God “confused” the people’s language in order to prevent them from building their

“Tower to Heaven.”

The Tower of Babel was a type and shadow of Mystery Babylon. The Babylonian System which is the worldwide political, false religious, and economical systems of this world is the tower Satan has built for himself using mankind as his “assemblers.” It is the

“Babylonian Tower to the Second Heaven.

CONFUSION

In the Old Testament every place where the word

“confusion” is found it is referring to “sexual immorality.” For instance, in Leviticus 18:23 the Bible tells us “Neither shall you lie with any beast to defile 53

yourself: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.” Relative to spiritual matters this scripture and the others where the word confusion is found in the Old Testament can be compared to sins of idolatry and/or spiritual adultery.

The Bible tells us that God is not the author of confusion, but of peace. (See 1st Corinthians 14:33).

People without Christ are lost, and under the spell of the Spirit of Confusion. One night when I was praying in my den, I saw what I thought were several demons running around me in a circle. I said to the Lord, “Lord what is that?” The Lord spoke to me and said, “It is a Spirit of Confusion.” The demon I saw was running around me so fast it looked to me as if several demons were running around me at the same time.

Knowing I had not been confused about anything I knew that the Lord was wanting to teach me something.

The Lord also revealed to me at the time that the Spirit of Fear and the Spirit of confusion work together to carry out many of Satan’s evil wiles and schemes.

The term “running around in circles” refers to confusion. After the vision of the Spirit of Confusion I went into my office and started pulling Bible references out of my bookcase, picked up my Bible, and started doing a study on the word “confusion.” Mystery Babylon is the mystery of “confusion.”

Since the vision of the Spirit of Confusion I saw in my den when I was praying, I have seen the spirit on two other occasions. Once I saw the spirit circling over a city in Northern Alabama near where I lived at the time. In 54

the last vision I had of the spirit of confusion it was circling around the earth.

In a book I wrote which was published in 2006 titled

“I AM—A Prophetic Look at End Time Events” I wrote the following:

The story of Mystery Babylon began IN THE

BEGINNING inside the Garden of Eden. That confusion is rooted and grounded in a system that has since the fall of mankind become self-sufficient, self-governed, and self-motivated. The mystery of confusion will finally be made manifest during end time events that will expose Mystery Babylon and her adulterous and fornicating ways.”

The Babylonian System has since then been recognized and revealed by many faith writers as well as many men and women of God. Satan is the author of confusion. God is the Author of peace. We must choose today who we will serve. Will it be the god and author of confusion or the God and Author of peace?

The geopolitical, false religious, and economic systems we see today are all built upon sinking sands and the sand they were erected upon is quickly being overcome and asphyxiated by the sands of time.
