In The Day Of Adversity CONSIDER

Tuesday, February 22, 2011

In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him. Ecclesiastes 7:14

Most of us, if we were to answer honestly, would have to admit that we do not seek God when we feel we do not need Him. No, we would NEVER say, "I do not need God!" We DO say this though when we choose to leave Him out of our daily lives. He loves us so much and He wants to be a part of our ups and downs. He is not some "genie in a bottle" that you call on when your world is crashing down around you. Yes, He is there when you need Him. When you get a phone call in the middle of the night, when your child is deathly ill, when the doctor says there is no hope, when death comes knocking, He is there. He will be there. He warns us in this passage to consider. Consider what? Consider the fact that He allows all these trials to come into our lives that we might know and see and one day admit that He is all we need. You can search the whole world for happiness, but you will only find true joy in Christ. When the trials come, as they always do in life, consider Him and what He wants you to see. What is He trying to tell you? What lesson is He trying to teach you? Am I saying that all trials are for this reason? No, I am not, but when they come, consider.
