The Great Tribulation and the Time of the “Rapture”

"For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be. (Daniel 12.1) And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." Matthew 24:21-22 Text translated from Schlachter 1951

The rapture and Jesus' second coming is the same event.

"For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by

no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we shall always be with the Lord." 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17

"When He comes, there will be a shout, the last (7th) trumpet will sound, and the voice of an archangel will be heard." This verse does not say that we will go to heaven, only that we will be caught up in clouds and will be with YAH'shua from then on.

This is in line with the following:

"Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed - in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last (7th) Trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." 1 Corinthians 15:51-52

The second coming of Jesus will take place after the tribulation and not before.

"But soon after the tribulation" In those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn and see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."  Matthew 24:29-31

The first resurrection takes place before the millennial reign of Christ (Revelation 11:15), not before the tribulation.

The following verse also clearly indicates that HIS coming will take place after the tribulation.

"And the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, The kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ has come into being, and he will reign for ever and ever." Revelation 11:15

Just look who will reign with YAH'shua (Jesus) for 1000 years...

"And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, nor received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. These lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were ended.

This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. On them the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with him for a thousand years." Revelation 20:4-6

During the tribulation, people will be saved and people will also die for Christ.

The people who have died

• who have not worshiped the beast or received his mark,

• who have proclaimed that Jesus is the Christ and

• have held on to the Bible (the Word of God),

will be resurrected and will reign with Christ for 1000 years together with the surviving children of God. This is the first resurrection.

If there was to be a resurrection that would occur with a rapture years earlier, in which the elect would be changed and the dead would be raised, what resurrection would this be?

The first resurrection will not take place until Jesus begins his 1,000-year reign on earth.

There can only be one FIRST resurrection and that is:

• at HIS second coming

• th at the end of the tribulation period, at the last (7) trumpet, before the “day or year” of GOD’s vengeance

"For I have planned a day of vengeance; the year of redeeming my people has come.” (Isaiah 63:4)

"to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,” Isaiah 61:2
