LOOKING FOR RED LOTUS LATE AT NIGHT(Seven character, Quatrain)
The rhyme is haeng/chŏng/kyŏng; tones match. Red Lotus and Autumn Wave are kisaeng. The poet steps on Autumn Wave in his search for Red Lotus.
A crazy butterfly sought fragrance in the night,
but a hundred secluded flowers were indifferent.
Bound for South Port, intent on plucking Red Lotus,
a tiny boat discovered the peril of Tungting Lake’s Autumn Wave.
