The Snake with the Eyes

As a snake

Looks at us

We could see

It stare back at us

And try to decide

Where we belonged

The snake and us,

Together,

Happily

Ever after

Happily through the city....

As the city fades

And we realize

We are alone

We are alone with each other

With not wanting to see

Our past

But we learn

To live

We see the future

Glow and spread out

Before us

We don’t like it,

But we have no choice

To live, we have to go forward

Even if what we see

Scare us

Or make us unsure

Unsure of what we can see

Unsure of what we couldn’t be

Then we meet

The future

She goes first, spiraling outwards

Until we meet

The others

That we were

Always destined

To meet
