Running Through Ice

In the arctic, he starts running

I’m running behind him,

Trying to catch up

Time moves fast

When the world around you is frozen

A frozen world

Makes for a frozen run

Slowly through the glaciers....

Slowly nearing the ice sea....

Slowly facing the light in the distance

It casts warmth on the ice

Melting it

We run through the barren landscape

The bridge in the distance

Our destination

Towards the sun

The bridge is ice

Our minds are ice

Concentration is key

Without it,

We will be running on ice

Forever

Just me and him

The sun grows brighter

The beach in the distance

Is over the ice waterfall

We run slowly to it

And we jump....

Far down below,

We fall

To the river

Far down below

We escape the ice

And reach the sun

As the ocean we stand on

Becomes transparent and pink,

Revealing aquatic life,

And then the sun grows brighter

As the rain begins to fall

On both me and him

We are surrounded by palm trees

We are standing on ice,

A natural aquarium of a sea

Is below our feet

The sunlight lights up the life below

And we are held in,

Both him and I,

By the transparent world around us

We are held in

Both him and I

As a wave splashes on us,

Carrying the life from the ocean,

With its water,

To meet us

Our hair is blowing in the wind,

The open air around us

A massive, empty field of ocean

All around us

That we stand on

The sun in the distance, yet somehow close

And night overtakes the sun

Night overtakes the transparent, natural underwater aquarium

We stand on

Before night comes,

The light of sun helps

Me and him

See our future beneath us

The raindrops fall on the future.
