The Long Way Home.....
It’s a long distance home
I don’t know if they will ever reach it....
It’s a long way home
I don’t know if they will ever reach their homes....
But I’m here to guide them,
So they should be alright....
Knowing my direction
Is helping us move one
Towards were we should be....
The planets in the distance
They grow closer
Looking like shapes
In a night sky....
I think I can make out
Our home on the horizon....
Its glowing green, blue, pink and purple....
We recognize it as our very home....
We recognize it even as it hides away in a black galaxy....
Sensing where we must go,
The ship goes into hyper drive
We will be able to drive
Right onto the surface!!
Getting closer,
People stand up on the planet
And scream our names in joy!!
Getting closer,
We can see the glowing, vibrant planet,
As its atmosphere is almost welcoming us inside
The glow is blinding
We put on sunglasses to protect our eyes
We fly around the planet first,
One single rotation,
Examining where we came from,
And then land on its surface,
Where our homes are
When we step out of our ship,
The people greet us with smiles and cheers of congratulations!!
We have a party filled with all
The great pleasures of life!!
We have a party to celebrate
Our return to our homes!!
We have a party to celebrate
The people who care about us,
The people welcoming us back to our surface world,
The surface world we share with them!!
Then the party continues....
Then the party climaxes
And we go home....
To the worlds
Inside our heads....
In our very own rooms....
In our bedrooms,
We wake up from our dreams
