Door .....

When the door opened,

Out poured everything we loved

When the door opened,

Out poured what made us strong

Running through the sunlight,

We seem to find ourselves

Our own strengths

Asleep again

We yawn and get out of bed

I didn’t know if we would ever wake up,

But we did

Our eyes open to the world from our beds

Our eyes open to the outside world

Waiting for us to enter it

So close

But we can’t seem to quite reach it....

Our eyes open again

We run throughout the fields,

With the sun shining down on us

The forest in the distance reflects light on us,

As we wake from our sleeping position on the grass,

Opening our eyes in realization to the world that has always existed

All around us,

For now and forever our own

Something we previously thought was only in our heads

Something we previously thought was unachievable with each other

Something we previously thought was just a pleasant dream

We feel sleep take us over

And that helps us open our eyes wider,

To take in more sunlight

The life around us shines

We see each other’s own lives shining bright

We see ourselves meet each other in the

Sunlight forest

The sunlight forest

We thought we would never reach

We are still wide awake

This isn’t a dream

But perhaps

Now is the time

That we can finally go to sleep

And finally be at ease with ourselves

With this world

That seems like a dream
