The World Below
The world below shines
As he steps out of the rooftop door
Unto the roof
He sees the life beyond
And he jumps
As he falls slowly downward
And he continues to fall
The sunlight shines
Upon him
And off
The building’s windows
That are in front of
And behind him
The gardens from the balconies
Explode and fill
The air with leaves
The balcony doors open,
They reveal what is inside
The leaves blow past them, into the air
He is mid-air, falling from high up the ground
The open balcony doors face him,
On the apartment complex in front of him
Facing him mid-air
The windows and the sunlight shining,
The windows reflecting the sunlight, all around him
And then the light grows
Overtaking the scene
Of him falling
Between these buildings of life
With their gardens flying mid-air
With him....
