Primas

They were like witches or fairies,
or something you tell a young girl
to keep her captivated, and I was
thinking about how they hated
each other, maybe not then,
but certainly in the now,
and yet? They were family,
three, four, five women,
all cousins, all heated
by the same familiar
flame, and together
they murdered anything
that stood up or against
them, and I used to worship
the thought until You
made me realize sitting
as You stand is a much
place to be.
