Our “perfect moment.”

Listening to your beautiful singing

while strumming your ukulele.

Looking back and forward from

your laptop and me,

since you don't remember the chords.

Us wearing matching pajamas.

You holding me in your arms

and me holding your hands

so you know I will also protect you.

Talking about our future.

Not OUR future but our futures.

Tell me your plans.

Tell me your dreams.

Let me show you I'm listening.

We laugh and smile like there’s no tomorrow.

We lay in silence and the night grew.

We lay in the dark,

content by each other's company.

Eyes closed, minds racing.

She turns to me and asks,

“Are you sleeping?”

She put her small, cold, dainty hands on my cheeks.

Cupping my face as she feels my smile grow.

“I love you.”

She said as she pressed her lips against mine for

the first time.

She communicates so much in those moments

without saying a word.
