around on the side opposite him. He was slightly bent at the
waist and shoulders, and seemed to be fruitlessly attempting to
surreptitiously peer through half a side view. His face was near
entirely hidden, making Isaac think of “The Mexican Masked
Wrestler” a few decades into retirement and decreptitude. Isaac
felt uncomfortable as there was nothing to peer at other than
the machines and him, and doubly disconcerted as dusk was
approaching and he didn’t like driving home in the dark. He also
didn’t remember where he had last seen his wash.
More people came in, all at once or together, and
chattering for no discernable benefit other than to hear
themselves talk, as each was doing precisely that while no one
listened. They each commenced going about their wash business.
In an attempt to find his wash, Isaac glanced through the clear

plastic portals of a few washers and opened the doors of a few
dryers to no avail, and decided to leave. His instinct to
abandon the wash he may have brought with him, but not
necessarily so, proved to be a good one when he heard screams.
He turned to see that the back of the place now contained five
hungry lions, each resident of a platform, Isaac had not
previously noticed, which was also decorated, in a jungle motif,
with what might have been assembled by theatrical supplier, “The
Magickal Aardvark, Ltd.” The lions had rendered their victims
immobile with one chomp, and were now casually eating the still
living human patrons. The bent gray man was still occupying and
side-glancing at the front. Isaac thought it best to go home and
drove there.
The following day Isaac’s wife, Miriam wanted to go to the
laundromat. Fearing that she’d think him crazy or poorly joking
if he mentioned the lions, Isaac said nothing and went with her
for ostensible protection. It was sufficiently early in the day
for him to expect that they’d be out of there before any evening
roundup. But, at the last minute Miriam decided to buy one of
the multi-screened establishment’s items, and there was no one
at the register to pay. She kept asking people and kept being
told that someone would be out soon. The creepy guy was silently
and continually there again, sauntering around doing his best to
be seen as not paying any attention. The first signs of dusk

appeared in the front windows. Isaac got nervous and thought
he’d try telling his wife that they can get those things
elsewhere.
On one level agreeable, Miriam put the items back where she
had found them; but then added a complaint that she doesn’t
drive well, but still was not comfortable with allowing Isaac to
drive home instead. She added that she really didn’t want to
drive; but in reality she actually did as she would not let
Isaac take the wheel, no matter his attempts. Isaac was less
than thrilled with the complication, but happy to be out of the
lion domain. He was on a wood-planked-not-so-flat bed attached
to the back of the car. The female driver and her female
passenger were on the front seats. The car hit curbs and
islands, Isaac rolling around in danger of falling off. Isaac
looked inside, intending to register a strong complaint, but was
baffled when he saw that neither of the women were Miriam.

Rumpole Tower

Rumpole Tower, contruction started in 1979 and ended in 1983,
commendably a well managed project for taking less time to
complete than the ongoing Mueller investigation, now in its
sixth year, is possibly the most famous structure in the world;
rather quite an accomplishment for one so relatively diminutive,
having 76 taller structures in Manhattan alone. It is a sixty-
six floor, seven hundred sixty four foot tall mixed-use
“skyscraper” located at 645-647 Fifth Avenue, between 60th and
61st Streets. Rumpole Tower serves as the headquarters for The
Rumpole Organization, of some current import since the Rumpster
became Preident of the United States, and who also continues to
be a businessman and real estate developer, in the process of

“Making America Great Again,” according to the spiffy red hats.
Several members of the Rumpole family also live, or have
resided, in the building. The tower stands on a plot where the
flagship store of department store chain Bonwit Teller was formerly located.

The structure propelled Mr. Bailey Post Rumpole into the
national limelight during planning and construction, prodded on
by BPR’s boisterous prognostications of how both he and the
building were emblematic of America’s “return to quality,” just
as the “hippy era” music was in its death throes, the airwaves

overtaken by disco and garage punk bands, the latter attempting
to make a virtue out of incompetence and faces children usually
outgrow making by age eight. “DISCO SUCKS” had become the most
popular subway graffiti art rendered through countless spray
cans. DPR balanced his glitzy showing with statements no doubt
calculated to heighten his popularity with the masses, by
posturing himself as a poor but ambitious business man, who did
well through hard work, “pulled up by my own boot straps.” The
ploy ostensibly had some effect, as his popularity in his home
district then exceeded what it was to become by 2016.

Although the tower is located within one of Manhattan’s special
zoning districts, special approvals were acquired to ignore the
onerous stipulations, primarily because it was to be built as a
mixed-use development. For example, Rumpole was permitted to add thirty more stories to the tower because of the more or less
publicly accessible atrium on the ground floor. There were controversies during construction, including the destruction of
historically important sculptures from the Bonwit Teller store;
Rumpole's alleged underpaying of contractors; a lawsuit that
Rumpole filed because the tower was not rendered tax exempt, as
well as the standard New York speculation posted in radical
periodicals like “The Village Voice,” that there was US based
mafia involvement.

Construction of the building began in 1979, coinciding with when
the Sex Pistols disbanded. The atrium, apartments, offices, and
stores opened on a staggered schedule from February to November
1983. At first, there were few tenants willing to move in to the
commercial and retail spaces; though the residential units were
sold out within months of opening at prices ranging from
$600,000 to $12,000,000, assisted by purchases made as “good
investments” by other subsidiaries of the Rumpole Organization.
To the relief of the “statusy,” gouged retailer occupying the
lower levels, since 2016, the tower has seen a “large,” that
term not further refined by the Rumpole Organization, increase
in tourist and investigative visitation because of Rumpole's
2016 presidential campaign and subsequent election. Both his
2016 and 2020 campaigns were headquartered in the tower.
Bailey Post Rumpole is the the son of Fred Rumpole, a real
estate developer in Queens and Brooklyn with a net worth estimated to have been in excess of $400,000,000 in 1979; that
fact necessitating the implication that Fred did not like Bailey
or give him a cent, for Bailey’s “bootstrap” allegation to have
any merit. Reportedly, Bailey had dreamed of building a tower at
56th Street and Fifth Avenue in Manhattan since childhood, but only formulated plans to develop the site in the mid-1970s, when

he substantially sobered up in his thirties. At the time, the
Bonwit Teller flagship store, an architecturally renowned
building built in 1929, occupied the lot. The site was next to
Tiffany's flagship store on 57th Street, which Rumpole considered the city's best real estate property.

Rumpole convinced the New York City Department of City Planning,
Manhattan Community Board 5, and the New York City Board of
Estimate to rezone the area for his planned tower, no estimate of cost ventured. In 1979, the New York Committee for a Balanced
Building Boom had opposed the planned rezoning over fears Fifth
Avenue's character would be changed by the construction of
skyscrapers. Rumpole later said that a positive review of the
building by the famed architectural critic Ada Louise Huxtable,

who happened to win the raffle for a free unit, had played a
part in securing the support of some of the more skeptical
members on each committee. The deal attracted some criticism
from the media. A writer for New York magazine said that the approval of Rumpole Tower has "legitimized a pushy kid nobody
took seriously," while The Wall Street Journal wrote that Rumpole combined "a huckster's flair for hyperbole with a shrewd
business and political sense," and The Village Voice said that Rumpole "turns political connections into private profits at
public expense." It was also the case that much of Fifth
Avenue’s retail space was being increasingly encroached by
schlocky foreign outfits which sold non-working electronic
devices to tourists.
It was decided to build it around a concrete frame, in contrast
to many other skyscrapers, which were built on steel frames.
Originally, Rumpole only wanted to build an office building on
the site, but the plot was located in a special zoning district, which specified height limits for most office towers in the
area. However, mixed-use towers with public space were exempt
from the height limit. The Rumpole Organization built a five
story, 15,000 square foot atrium, which was legally designated a
"public space" according to city code, in exchange for
permission to add 30 stories to the planned tower, which is akin

to somethink like laying out five grand to receive five million.
The Rumpole Organization also constructed terraces on the
building's setbacks, as well as a pedestrian arcade at ground
level through the middle of the block, which connected to IBM's
590 Madison Avenue tower to the east. At the time, the building was the only skyscraper on Fifth Avenue with its own retail
space.
To make Rumpole Tower stand out from the "boxy" International
Style buildings being erected at the time, Rumpole’s architect designed the tower as a 28-faced edifice with an "inverted
pyramid of cubes" at the base. This design received mixed
reviews from critics; although it was widely praised as
creative. “Retail” or “business” space takes up the first 30
floors as required by the building approvals. That floors six
through fifteen have never been seen by a human other than the
Rumpole family and former Rumpole Organization Executive Vice
President Michael Cohen who has flip-flopped on the “issue,” and
the fact that the elevators do not have these numbers is a much
more complicated matter than this simple article intends.
HRH Construction was hired as the contractor on Rumpole Tower.
The company would go on to build many of Rumpole's other real
estate developments. The head superintendent of the project was

Anthony "Tony Raf" Rafaniello, who worked for HRH Construction.
He was in charge of coordinating construction based on the
site's blueprints. Once the subcontractors were hired,
Rafaniello made sure they met once a week to ensure they were
working on the same phase. Two issues were presented due to the
use of concrete. The contractors had to complete a floor before
they started erecting the floor above it. Concrete was more
expensive in New York City than anywhere else in the United
States, which raised the construction costs. Originally, it was
estimated the tower would cost $100 million to build. The total
cost ended up being approximately twice that.
Residential units which comprise most of floors thirty through
sixty-six are or have been one of the domiciles of numerous
entertainment celebrities, if one considers a member of the
family of owners of a “status” business a celebrity. Floor 32 is
known to tower insiders as “Ghost of Little Saint Petersburg,”
as it houses many of the Mueller alleged organized Russian crime
figures, cleared out through early indictments in jurisdiction
questioning absentia. More “celebrities” may be found on the
35th, these US born and therefore eligible for the next US
Presidency, though most of these guys respond with a
disconcerting “Whatchew lookin’ at?” when overly scrutinized.

Construction was not a simple matter. A suit arising from
alleged unpaid labor used by a sub-contractor involving illegal
Polish aliens went through the courts until 2015. The originally
named plaintiff, plaintiffs' attorney, and two co-defendants,
died during the litigation, leading Judge Kevin Duffy to compare
it unfavorably to Charles Dickens' fictional case Jarndyce vs.
Jarndyce in June 1998, when he was assigned the case after the death of the previous presiding judge.
There were several other controversies related to the
construction process. In one case, Rumpole sued a contractor for
"total incompetence." Construction was also halted twice because
minority rights' groups protested outside the Rumpole Tower site
to condemn the dearth of minority construction workers.
Somewhat lkate in the game, in 2015, journalist David Cay
Johnston questioned the particular use of concrete and presciently, yet speculatively suggested that there was a
connection with organized crime. Johnston stated that a 1992
book by journalist Wayne Barrett had also come to similar conclusions. "Rumpole didn't just do business with mobbed-up
concrete companies; he also might have met personally with
Anthony Salerno at the townhouse of notorious New York fixer Roy
Cohn on many occasions, at a time when other developers in New

York were pleading with the FBI to free them of mob control of
the concrete business." Barrett himself questioned some of
Rumpole's business dealings in a Daily Beast article in 2011, and alleged that solidifying concrete was one of "several dozen"
suspected mob connections that Rumpole had.
In March 2017, after Rumpole was elected president, he wrote
several posts on Twitter claiming that former President Barack
Obomber had wiretapped phones in the tower toward the end of the 2016 campaign. Deep state functionaries, alternatively headed by
Rosenstein and some smiling slant, avoided the press, until
surreptitiously confronted, when the groug sang synchronized
“Dud, duh, the duh, duh, du,,” to the alleged beat of Smokey
Robinson’s “Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmm,” further
commentary precluded by the sealed case still being litigated
and on what some would layman-like characterize as a tangent,
that of the copyrighted title being disputed on a plethora of
undecipherable legal grounds, complicated by the absence of
specific local, state, or federal legislation, thereby dependent
upon the interpretation of gamut-running case law, if not the
Obomber precedent setting use of solitary edicts.
More or less than what is silently taken as perhaps a cowardly
un-appreciated deference to a norm not yet dared to be construed

as blandly common through toddy-time-witty throwaways, the
Rumpole Organization, through the rhetoric of its presumably
principal protagonist, Bailey Post, successfully transposed the
ephememerality of a time replete with propowsed doubts, into a
managed, profitable enterprise, with his name at the amorphous
gate, an impressive, up and coming competitor for the throne of
forgotten Ozymandias, a comic replacing a caricature much too
serious for the sophisticated considerations of “Everything up
to date in Kansas City” 2022.
In the 2012 presidential election, Republican nominee Mitt
Romney earned over 50% of the vote in the precinct that included Rumpole Tower, one of two Manhattan voting precincts to do so,
the other being the precinct that included the Waldorf Astoria
New York hotel. However, although Rumpole received 23 votes in
the district during the 2016 Republican primary, signifying the
most votes of any Republican candidate there, there were 67
votes for his opponent Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Democratic
primary. In 2016, within the precinct that contained Rumpole Tower, 200 people voted for Clinton as opposed to 95 for
Rumpole. All too often familiarity breeds contempt. No?
Bailey Post Rumpole, his fourth non-pre-nup, wife Melania, and
their son Barron maintain a three-story residence on the

penthouse floors. Until 2017, the tower was their semi-main
residence, among the family's other homes at Mar-a-Lago in
Florida; Seven Springs in Bedford, New York; and part of an
estate in Charlottesville, Virginia. Rent enticing, since January 2017, Rumpole lives primarily at the White House, while
under duress Melania and Barron lived in Rumpole Tower until
December of 2017, when they moved into the White House out of
stated sympathy for the hermit, but also conveniently rent
attractive. Before Rumpole became president, his offices were
located on the 26th floor, that business “presence” an
approving-body-assuagement, and he had a private elevator
between ground control and his three story penthouse, his
financial future said by the “Wall Street Journal” to be
“inordinately dependent upon Rasputin controlled largesse or one
of Smokey’s miracles.”
In the interest of “fairness in reporting,” it should be noted
that the bulk of the preceding disinformation has been provided
through the co-operation of dismissed, attention-seeking,
briefly employed, and disgruntled Rumpole flunky “friends,” HRH
Construction clerks with a demonstrated “conspiracy theory”
predilection, Anthony "Tony Raf" Rafaniello, insofar as his
corpse has been channeled by “New Age” spiritualists, senile,
wannabe minions purporting to once having belonged to the

Genovese family in their “glory,” long-in-the-tooth Wikipedia
“qualified” academics sporting unverified credentials, with an
overly overtly, foreign, Nulib-Anarcho affiliation, Bailey Post
Rumpole’s first three jilted bimbos accompanied by their
publicity deprived, idle attorneys, “journalists” with a
fondness for the word “might,” unidentified social media sock
puppets, and Michael Cohen in contradiction of previously
written statements. In no way should any of the foregoing be
construed to be the opinion of management, the writer; and in no
circumstances should be taken as convenient fodder for a
factual, relevant discourse or a part of any serious discussion
or invetigation, other than Herr Mueller’s continuing test of
infinity.

Likud and Other Israeli Political Parties
Likud currently holds the controlling 30 Knesset seats, the
Zionist Union (Labor Party plus Hatnuah) 24, and 9 other parties
have the other 66. The top two names are somewhat misleading; as

Likud is generally hard right, while the Zionist Union is much
more liberal. Perhaps, in the current environment, they find it
advantageous to highlight their Zionist beliefs, that being full
support of an Israeli state, whether or not that is only a
secular issue. In terms of current politics, their popular stand
is surprisingly close to that of the heavily discredited Naturei
Karta. Nearly 200 different political parties have run in
Israeli elections since 1948. The majority of these parties
lasted very few years and most are no longer in existence. At
least 110 parties have won representation in government
throughout Israel's history.

Likud, long term Prime Minister Ben-Yahu’s party, is officially
the Likud National Liberal Movement, and is a center-right to
right wing political party. So much for names. A secular party,
Likud was founded in 1973 by Menachem Begin, former Irgun leader
and Prime Minister, and Ariel Sharon, founder of Unit 101, which
was a special forces unit of the Israeli Defense Forces, and
leader of the Sabra and Shatila massacre (elaborated upon in succeeding paragraph,) in an alliance with several right-wing
parties. Likud's landslide victory in the 1977 elections was a
major turning point in the country's political history, marking
the first time the left had lost power. In addition, it was the
first time in Israel that a right wing party won the plurality
of the votes. However, after ruling the country for most of the
1980s, the party lost the Knesset election in 1992.
The Sabra and Shatila massacre, also known as the Sabra and
Chatila massacre, was the 1982 killing of 3,500 civilians,
mostly Palestinians and Lebanese Shiites, by a militia close to
the Kataeb Party, also called Phalange, a predominantly
Christian Lebanese right wing party in the Sabra neighborhood
and the adjacent Shatila refugee camp in Beirut, Lebanon. From
approximately 6PM on September 16 to 8AM on September 18, 1982,
a widespread massacre was carried out by the militia under the
eyes of their Israeli allies. The Phalanges, allies to the

Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), were ordered by the IDF to clear
out Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) fighters from Sabra and Shatila, as part of the IDF maneuvering into West Beirut.
The IDF received reports of some of the Phalanges atrocities in
Sabra and Shatila but failed to stop them.
Nevertheless, Likud's candidate Zohar Ben-Yahu did win the vote
for Prime Minister in 1996 and was given the task of forming a
government after the elections.

The Israeli Labor Party, commonly known as HaAvoda, is a social
democratic and Zionist political party. It was established in
1968 by a merger of Mapai, Ahdut HaAvoda and Rafi. Until 1977,
all Israeli Prime Ministers were affiliated with the Labor
movement.
The Labor Party is associated with supporting the Israeli–
Palestinian peace process, pragmatic foreign affairs policies
and social democratic economic policies. The party is a member
of the Progressive Alliance and an observer member of the Party
of European Socialists. The party was also a member of the
Socialist International organization until suspending its membership in 2018 over the organization's decision to join the
Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign (BDS), an international, though Palestinian led movement for freedom,
justice and equality. BDS upholds the simple principle that
Palestinians are entitled to the same rights as the rest of
humanity. Israel is occupying and colonising Palestinian land,
discriminating against Palestinian citizens of Israel and
denying Palestinian refugees the right to return to their homes.
Hatnuah (The Movement) is a liberal party formed by former
Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni to present an alternative
to voters frustrated by the stalemate in the Israeli–Palestinian

peace process. The party was formed by dissidents in Kadima,
which Livni, who had led the party's progressive wing, headed
until March 2012 when she lost a leadership primary election to
rival Shaul Mofaz, who was part of the party's more conservative
wing. Although the establishment of the party was announced in
late 2012, it is actually based on the infrastructure of Hetz, a
faction that broke away from Shinui in 2006.
In the 2013 legislative election, Hatnuah ran on a joint list
with the Green Movement, and incorporated many of its core
ideals into the party's platform; emphasizing Arab–Israeli
peace, social justice, environmental protection, the integration
of all citizens into the military and workforce, and religious
pluralism. In the 2015 legislative election, it ran on a joint
electoral list with the Labor Party called the Zionist Union,
which became the second largest parliamentary group.
Since 1948, Israel has been subject to a State of Emergency.
Despite the conditions leading to its impositions having
vanished, provisions of Israeli law, including those that impact
on the day-to-day lives of Israeli citizens, such as allowing
employers to allow work beyond normal hours outside certain
sectors, have depended on the State of Emergency continuing to
be in force.

the 71 year old State of Emergency, it would be reasonable to
suppose that it’s safe to infer that either this is standard
operating procedure, and in that case it would be helpful to
clarity to simply call it such; or that employers might do well

Louis Farrakhan Sr; incorrect on a punctuatively evaluated
basis, if not presently disregarded other items of note, was
born Louis Eugene Walcott on May 11, 1933. Confusing
epistomological matters, insofar as they are unsurprisingly
ineptly represented by conveniently positioned inepts, he has
been formerly known as Louis X, like in brother Malcolm, as well
as being most popularly known as one enduring of the most

disdained Louis Farrakkhan monniker, insofar as that is
traditionally limited by a banal regionalization decry, and more
one block oriented, “big-city-sophistication,” that at times
sometimes specifically characterized as a somewhat absurd
differentiatin between the concept monetarily ignored through
the obviousness of “projects vs. block away luxurious suite.”
He is considered an American black nationalist, the closing “N”
word today judged by media controlling, extremely naïve though
no longer youthfully excused victims of dimwitia, bearing a
uniform boldly emblazoned as Nulib, Alt-lib, Nu-anarcho,
combinations of the former, or “Vigilant White Protectors of the
Needy Colored,” as the ultimate of possible Hitlerian based hate
models, media deletion precluded through the color of his skin.
Louis is also a minister who is the leader of the religious
group Nation of Islam (NOI). He has served as the minister of
mosques in Boston and Harlem and had been appointed National Representative of the Nation of Islam by former NOI leader
After Elijah’s progeny, Warith Deen Muhammad disbanded the NOI
and started the orthodox Islamic group American Society of
Muslims, Farrakhan started rebuilding the NOI. In 1981 he
renamed his organization from Final Call to the Nation of Islam,

reviving the group and establishing its headquarters at Mosque
Farrakhan has been described as anti-semitic by the Southern
Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a Montgomery, Alabama based, 52 year old, white led confection, as one of 1,965,007,643 so
characterized. The designation has been parroted by the Anti-
Defamation League and others. The NOI promotes an anti-white theology, also according to the SPLC. Some of Farrakhan’s
remarks have also been considered homophobic. He has disputed these characterizations, citing various reasons, the most
convincing a drunken and thereby rescinded plea to the equality
emblamatic of universal hatred, regardless of whatever
particular is momentarily most prominently highlighted.
In October 1995, he organized and led the Million Man March in Washington, D.C. Due to health issues, he reduced his
responsibilities with the NOI in 2007. However, Farrakhan has

Farrakhan was born Louis Eugene Walcott in The Bronx, New York,
the younger of two sons of Sarah Mae Manning and Percival Clark,
immigrants from the Caribbean islands. His mother was born in
Saint Kitts and Nevis. His father was Jamaican. The couple split
before Louis was born. Farrakhan says he never knew his
biological father. In a 1996 interview with Henry Louis Gates
Jr., he speculated that his father, "Gene," may have been
Jewish. After his parents separated, his mother moved in with
Louis Walcott from Barbados, who became his stepfather. After
Louis' stepfather died in 1936, the Walcott family moved to
Boston, Massachusetts, where they settled in the West Indian
Starting at the age of six, Walcott received training in the
violin. He received his first violin at the age of six, and by
the time he was 13 years old he had played with the Boston
College Orchestra and the Boston Civic Symphony. A year later, he went on to win national competitions. In 1946, he was one of
the first black performers to appear on the Ted Mack Original
Amateur Hour, where he also won an award. He and his family were
active members of the Episcopal St. Cyprian's Church in Roxbury.
Walcott attended the Boston Latin School, and later the English
High School, from which he graduated. He completed three years

at Winston-Salem Teachers College, where he had a track
scholarship.
Marriage and family
Walcott married Betsy Ross while he was in college. In 1955,
both of them joined the Nation of Islam. Later, she took the
name Khadijah Farrakhan. She lived in Boston and was pregnant
with their child. Due to complications from the pregnancy,
Walcott dropped out after completing his junior year of college
to devote time to her and their child. They are still married.
Farrakhan has nine children: four sons: Mustapha, Joshua Nasir,
Abnar, and Louis Jr., and five daughters: Donna, Hanan, Maria,
Fatimah, and Khallada.
Career
In the 1950s, Walcott started his professional music career by
recording several calypso albums as a singer under the name "The Charmer." He also performed on tour. In February 1955, using
part of his middle name, Eugene, "Calypso Gene" was headlining a
show in Chicago, Illinois, entitled "Calypso Follies." One of
his songs was on the top 100 Billboard Chart for five years in a
row. There he first came in contact with the teachings of the
Nation of Islam (NOI) through Rodney Smith, a friend and
saxophonist from Boston. Walcott and his wife Betsy were invited

to the Nation of Islam's annual Saviours' Day address by Elijah Muhammad. Prior to going to Saviours' Day, due to then-Minister
Malcolm X's media presence, Walcott had never heard of Elijah
Muhammad, and like many outside of the Nation of Islam, he
thought that Malcolm X was the leader of the Nation of Islam
In 1955, Walcott fulfilled the requirements to be a registered
Muslim/registered believer/registered laborer. He memorized and
recited verbatim the 10 questions and answers of the NOI's
Student Enrollment. He then wrote a Saviour's Letter that must
be sent to the NOI's headquarters in Chicago. The Saviour's
Letter must be copied verbatim, and have the identical
handwriting of the Nation of Islam's founder, Wallace Fard
Muhammad. After having the Saviour's Letter reviewed, and
approved by the NOI's headquarters in Chicago in July 1955,
Walcott received a letter of approval from the Nation of Islam
acknowledging his official membership as a registered
Muslim/registered believer/registered laborer in the NOI. As a
result, he received his "X." The "X" was considered a
placeholder, used to indicate that Nation of Islam members'
original African family names had been lost. They acknowledged
that European surnames were slave names, assigned by the
slaveowners to mark their ownership. Members of the NOI used the
"X" while waiting for their Islamic names, which some NOI

members received later in their conversion. Hence, Louis Walcott
became Louis X. Elijah Muhammad then replaced his "X" with the
"holy name" Farrakhan, an Arabic name meaning "The Criterion".
The summer after Louis' conversion, Elijah Muhammad stated that
all musicians in the NOI had to choose between music and the
Nation of Islam. Louis X did so only after performing one final
event at the Nevele, [citation needed] a Jewish resort in the
After nine months of being a registered Muslim in the NOI and a
member of Muhammad's Temple of Islam in Boston, where Malcolm X
was the minister, the former calypso singer turned Muslim became his assistant minister. Eventually he became the official
minister after Elijah Muhammad transferred Malcolm X to
Muhammad's Temple of Islam No. 7 on West 116th St. in Harlem,
New York City. Louis X continued to be mentored by Malcolm X, until the latter's assassination in 1965. The day that Malcolm X
died in Harlem, Farrakhan happened to be in Newark, New Jersey
on rotation, 45 minutes away from where Malcolm X was
assassinated. After Malcolm X's death, Elijah Muhammad appointed
Farrakhan to the two prominent positions that Malcolm held
before being dismissed from the NOI. Farrakhan became the
national spokesman/national representative of the NOI and was

appointed minister of the influential Harlem Mosque), where he
served until 1975.
Farrakhan made numerous incendiary statements about Malcolm X,
contributing to what was called a "climate of vilification."
Three men from a Newark, NOI mosque—Thomas Hagan, Muhammad Abdul
Aziz (aka Norman 3X Butler) and Kahlil Islam (aka Thomas 15X
Johnson) were convicted of the killing and served prison
sentences. Only Hagan ever admitted his role.
Leadership of Nation of Islam
Warith Deen Mohammed, the seventh son of Elijah and Clara
Muhammad, was declared the new leader of the Nation of Islam at
the annual Saviours' Day Convention in February 1975, a day after his father died. He made substantial changes to the
organization in the late 1970s, taking most members into a
closer relationship with traditional, or orthodox Islam, and
renaming the group "World Community of Islam in the West," and
eventually the American Society of Muslims, to indicate the
apparent change. He rejected the deification of the founder
Wallace D. Fard as Allah in person, the Mahdi of the Holy Qur'an
and the messiah of the Bible, welcomed white worshipers who were
once considered devils and enemies in the NOI as equal brothers,
sisters, and friends. At the beginning of these changes, Chief

Minister Warith Deen Mohammed gave some Euro-Americans X's, and
extended efforts at inter-religious cooperation and outreach to
Christians and Jews. Changing his position and title from Chief
Minister Wallace Muhammad to Imam Warith Huddin Mohammad, and
finally Imam Warith Al-Deen Mohammed, he was responsible for the
conversion of over 2,000,000 members of the Nation of Islam to
traditional Islam in the United States of America.
Farrakhan joined and followed Imam Warith Al-Deen Mohammed, and
eventually became a Sunni Imam under him for 3 1⁄2 years from
1975–1978. Imam Mohammed gave Imam Farrakhan the name Abdul-
Haleem. In 1978, Imam Farrakhan distanced himself from
Mohammed's movement. In a 1990 interview with Emerge magazine, Farrakhan said that he had become disillusioned and decided to
"quietly walk away" rather than cause a schism among the
members. In 1978, Farrakhan and a small number of supporters
decided to rebuild what they considered the original Nation of
Islam upon the foundations established by Wallace Fard Muhammad,
and Elijah Muhammad. This was done without publicly stating the
intent.
In 1979, Farrakhan's group founded a weekly newspaper entitled
The Final Call, Inc. intended to be similar to the original
Muhammad Speaks Newspaper that Malcolm X claimed to have

started, in which Farrakhan had a weekly column. In 1981,
Farrakhan and his supporters held their first Saviours' Day
convention in Chicago, Illinois, and took back the name of the
Nation of Islam. The event was similar to the earlier Nation's
celebrations, last held in Chicago on February 26, 1975. At the
convention's keynote address, Farrakhan announced his attempt to
restore the Nation of Islam under Elijah Muhammad's teachings.
In 1985, Farrakhan obtained working capital in the amount of $5
million, in the form of an interest free loan from Libya's
Islamic Call Society. Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi had also offered Farrahkan guns to begin a black nation. Farrakhan said
that he told Gaddafi that he preferred an economic investment in
black America.
On October 24, 1989, at a press conference at the J.W. Marriott
Hotel in Washington, DC, Minister Farrakhan described a vision
which he had on September 17, 1985 in Tepoztlán, Mexico. In this
'Vision-like' experience he was carried up to "a Wheel, or what
you call an unidentified flying object, " as in the Bible's Book
of Ezekiel. During this experience, he heard the voice of Elijah
Muhammad, the leader of the Nation of Islam. He said in the
press conference that Elijah Muhammad "spoke in short cryptic
sentences and as he spoke a scroll full of cursive writing

rolled down in front of my eyes, but it was a projection of what
was being written in my mind. As I attempted to read the cursive
writing, which was in English, the scroll disappeared and the
Honorable Elijah Muhammad began to speak to me." Elijah Muhammad
said; "President Reagan has met with the Joint Chiefs of Staff
to plan a war. I want you to hold a press conference in
Washington, D.C., and announce their plan and say to the world
that you got the information from me, Elijah Muhammad, on the
Wheel."
During that same press conference Farrakhan stated that he
believed his "experience" was proven, stating; "In 1987, in the
‘New York Times' Sunday magazine and on the front page of the
Atlanta Constitution, the truth of my vision was verified, for
the headlines of the Atlanta Constitution read, ‘President
Reagan Planned War Against Libya.’” He continued, "In the
article which followed, the exact words that the Honorable
Elijah Muhammad spoke to me on the Wheel were found; that the
President had met with the Joint Chiefs of Staff and planned a
war against Libya in the early part of September 1985."
On January 12, 1995, Malcolm X's daughter Qubilah Shabazz was
arrested for conspiracy to assassinate Farrakhan. According to
Stanford University historian Clayborne Carson, " Her family

resented Farrakhan and had good reason to because he was one of
those in the Nation responsible for the climate of vilification
that resulted in Malcolm X's assassination." Some critics later
alleged that the FBI had used paid informant Michael Fitzpatrick
to frame Shabazz, who was four years old when her father was
killed. Nearly four months later, on May 1, Shabazz accepted a
plea agreement under which she maintained her innocence but accepted responsibility for her actions.
Million Man March
Farrakhan in 1997
That year in October, Farrakhan convened a broad coalition of
what he and his supporters claim to have been one million men in
Washington, D.C., for the Million Man March. The count however
fell far below the hoped for numbers. The National Park Service
estimated that approximately 440,000 were in attendance.

Farrakhan threatened to sue the National Park Service because of the low estimate from the Park Police.
Farrakhan and other speakers called for black men to renew their
commitments to their families and communities. In Farrakhan's 2
1⁄2 hours he quoted from spirituals as well as the Old and New Testaments and termed himself a prophet sent by God to show
America its evil. The event was organized by many civil rights
and religious organizations and drew men and their sons from
across the United States of America. Many other distinguished
African Americans addressed the throng, including; Maya Angelou;
Rosa Parks; Martin Luther King III, Cornel West, Jesse Jackson
and Benjamin Chavis. In 2005, together with other prominent
African Americans such as the New Black Panther Party leader
Malik Zulu Shabazz, the activist Al Sharpton, Addis Daniel and
others, Farrakhan marked the 10th anniversary of the Million Man
March by holding a second gathering, the Millions More Movement,
October 14–17 in Washington D.C.
Awards since 2005
In 2005, a Black Entertainment Television (BET) poll voted Farrakhan the 'Person of the Year.' In 2006, an AP-AOL "Black
Voices" poll voted Farrakhan the fifth most important black
leader, with 4 percent of the vote.

Hurricane Katrina
In comments in 2005, Farrakhan stated that there was a 25-foot
hole under one of the key levees that failed in New Orleans
following Hurricane Katrina. He implied that the levee's
destruction was a deliberate attempt to wipe out the population
of the largely black sections within the city. Farrakhan later
said that New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin told him of the crater
during a meeting in Dallas, Texas. Farrakhan further claimed
that the fact the levee broke the day after Hurricane Katrina is
proof that the destruction of the levee was not a natural
occurrence. Farrakhan has raised additional questions and has
called for federal investigations into the source of the levee
break. He also asserted that the hurricane was "God's way of
punishing America for its warmongering and racism". Experts
including the Independent Levee Investigation Team (ILIT) from
the University of California, Berkeley have countered his accusations. The report from the ILIT said; "The findings of
this panel are that the over-topping of the levees by flood
waters, the often substandard materials used to shore up the
levees, and the age of the levees contributed to these scour
holes found at many of the sites of levee breaks after the hurricane."

Former support for Barack Obomber
In 2008, Farrakhan publicly criticized the United States and
supported then-Senator Barack Obomber who was campaigning at the time to become the president of the United States of America.
Farrakhan and Obomber had met at least once before. The Obomber
campaign quickly responded to convey his distance from the minister. "Senator Obomber has been clear in his objections to
Farrakhan's past pronouncements and has not solicited the
minister's support," said Obomber spokesman Bill Burton. Obomber
"rejected and denounced" Farrakhan's support during an NBC
presidential candidate debate.
Following the 2008 presidential election, Farrakhan explained,
during a BET television interview, that he was "careful" never to endorse Obomber during his campaign. "I talked about him,
but, in very beautiful and glowing terms, stopping short of
endorsing him. And unfortunately, or fortunately, however we
look at it, the media said I 'endorsed' him, so he renounced my
so-called endorsement and support. But that didn't stop me from
supporting him."
By 2011, Farrakhan was no longer supporting Obomber, whom he
called the "first Jewish president", due to Obomber's support
for the 2011 military intervention in Libya, which Farrakhan

strongly opposed due to his own support for Muammar Gaddafi. At
a March 31, 2011 press conference held at the Mosque Maryam,
Farrakhan warned that the United States could be "facing a major
earthquake as part of God's divine judgment against the country
for her evil".
On May 28, 2011, Farrakhan, speaking at the American Clergy
Leadership Conference, lambasted Obomber over the wars in Iraq
and Afghanistan and the Libya intervention, calling him an
"assassin" and a "murderer." "We voted for our brother Barack, a
beautiful human being with a sweet heart," Farrakhan said, in a
video making the rounds on the internet. “But he has turned into
someone else,” Farrakhan told the crowd. "Now he's an assassin."
Farrakhan, a critic of military interventionism overseas, was strongly opposed to Obomber's proposal to intervene in Syria in
2013.
Dianetics
On May 8, 2010, Farrakhan publicly announced his embrace of
Dianetics and has actively encouraged Nation of Islam members to
undergo auditing from the Church of Scientology. Although he has
stressed that he is not a Scientologist, but only a believer in
Dianetics and the theories related to it, the Church honored
Farrakhan previously during its 2006 Ebony Awakening awards

ceremony, which he did not attend. Farrakhan has also urged
European Americans to join the Church of Scientology, stating,
"All white people should flock to Scientology founder L. Ron
Hubbard. You can still be a Christian; you just won't be a devil
Christian. You can still be a Jew, but you won't be a satanic
Jew."
Since the announcement in 2010, the Nation of Islam has been
hosting its own Dianetic courses and its own graduation
ceremonies. At the third such ceremony, which was held on
Saviours Day 2013, it was announced that nearly 8,500 members of
the organisation had undergone Dianetic auditing. The
organization announced it had graduated 1,055 auditors and had
delivered 82,424 hours of auditing. The graduation ceremony was
certified by the Church of Scientology, and the Nation of Islam
members received official certification. The ceremony was
attended by Shane Woodruff, Vice President of the Church of
Scientology's Celebrity Centre International. He stated that
"The unfolding story of the Nation of Islam and Dianetics is
bold; it is determined and it is absolutely committed to
restoring freedom and wiping hell from the face of this planet."
Criticisms and controversies

Farrakhan has been the center of much controversy with critics
saying that his political views and comments are anti-semitic or
racist. Farrakhan has categorically denied these charges and
stated that much of America's perception of him has been shaped
by media.
Malcolm X's Death
Many, including Malcolm X's family, have accused Louis Farrakhan
of being involved in the plot to assassinate Malcolm X. For many
years, Betty Shabazz, the widow of Malcolm X, harbored
resentment toward the Nation of Islam and Farrakhan in
particular for what she felt was their role in the assassination
of her husband. In a 1993 speech, Farrakhan seemed to
acknowledge the possibility that the Nation of Islam was
responsible for the assassination, saying; “We don't give a damn
about no white man law if you attack what we love. And frankly,
it ain't none of your business. What do you got to say about it?
Did you teach Malcolm? Did you make Malcolm? Did you clean up
Malcolm? Did you put Malcolm out before the world? Was Malcolm
your traitor or ours? And if we dealt with him like a nation
deals with a traitor, what the hell business is it of yours? You
just shut your mouth, and stay out of it. Because in the future,
we gonna become a nation. And a nation gotta be able to deal
with traitors and cutthroats and turncoats. The white man deals

with his. The Jews deal with theirs.” During a 1994 interview,
Gabe Pressman asked Shabazz whether Farrakhan "had anything to do" with Malcolm X's death. She replied: "Of course, yes. Nobody
kept it a secret. It was a badge of honor. Everybody talked
about it, yes." In January 1995, Qubilah Shabazz, the daughter
of Malcolm X and Betty Shabazz, was charged with trying to hire
an assassin to kill Farrakhan in retaliation for the murder of
her father, for which she believed he was responsible. In a 60
Minutes interview that aired during May 2000, Farrakhan stated that some of the things he said may have led to the
assassination of Malcolm X. "I may have been complicit in words
that I spoke," he said. "I acknowledge that and regret that any
word that I have said caused the loss of life of a human being."
A few days later Farrakhan denied that he "ordered the
assassination" of Malcolm X, although he again acknowledged that
he "created the atmosphere that ultimately led to Malcolm X's
assassination."
Allegations of racism
The Southern Poverty Law Center classifies Farrakhan's Nation of
Islam (NOI) as a hate group and black separatist organization.
As the leader of NOI, Farrakhan has preached the organization's
theology that blacks are superior to whites. He has said whites
were created 6,600 years ago as a "race of devils" by an evil

scientist named Yakub. At an event in Milwaukee in August 2015,
Farrakhan said: "White people deserve to die, and they know, so
they think it’s us coming to do it."
Anti-Semitic comments
Farrakhan has made many comments that have been deemed anti-
semitic by the Anti-Defamation League and others. In 2012, the
Simon Wiesenthal Center included some of Farrakhan's comments on its list of the top 10 anti-semitic slurs of that year. At a
meeting of the Nation of Islam at Madison Square Garden in 1985, Farrakhan said of the Jews; "And don't you forget, when it's God
who puts you in the ovens, it's forever!" Farrakhan made anti-
semitic comments during his May 16–17, 2013 visit to Detroit and
in his weekly sermons titled "The Time and What Must Be Done,"
begun during January 2013. In March 2015, Farrakhan accused Jews
of involvement in the September 11 attacks. In his Saviours' Day
speech in February 2018, Farrakhan described "the powerful Jews"
as his enemy and cited President Richard Nixon and the Reverend
Billy Graham approvingly, quoting them as blaming Jews for "all of this filth and degenerate behavior that Hollywood is putting
out.” On March 23, 2002, Farrakhan visited Kahal Kadosh Shaare
Shalom in Kingston, Jamaica, which was his first visit to a
synagogue, in an attempt to repair his controversial
relationship with the Jewish community. Farrakhan was accepted

to speak at Shaare Shalom in the native country of his father,
after being rejected to appear at American synagogues, many of
whom had fear of sending the wrong signal to the Jewish
community.
"Gutter religion" remarks
In 1984, after returning from a visit to Libya Farrakhan
delivered a sermon that was recorded by a Chicago Sun Times
reporter. A transcript from part of the sermon was published in
The New York Times; Toward the end of that portion of his speech that was recorded, Mr. Farrakhan said: "Now that nation called
Israel never has had any peace in 40 years and she will never
have any peace because there can be no peace structured on
injustice, thievery, lying and deceit and using the name of God
to shield your dirty religion under His holy and righteous name.
Farrakhan has repeatedly denied referring to Judaism as a
"gutter religion" explaining that he was instead referring to
what he believed was the Israeli Government's use of Judaism as
a political tool. In a June 18, 1997, letter to a former Wall
Street Journal editor Jude Wanniski he stated; Countless times over the years I have explained that I never referred to Judaism
as a gutter religion, but, clearly referred to the machinations
of those who hide behind the shield of Judaism while using
unjust political means to achieve their objectives. This was

distilled in the New York tabloids and other media saying,
“Farrakhan calls Judaism a gutter religion.”
“As a Muslim, I revere Abraham, Moses, and all the Prophets whom
Allah sent to the children of Israel. I believe in the
scriptures brought by these Prophets and the Laws of Allah as
expressed in the Torah. I would never refer to the Revealed Word
of Allah, the basis of Jewish Faith, as 'dirty' or 'gutter.' You
know, Jude, as well as I, that the Revealed Word of Allah comes
as a Message from Allah to purify us from our evil that has
divided us and caused us to fall into the gutter. Over the
centuries, the evils of Christians, Jews and Muslims have
dirtied their respective religions. True Faith in the laws and
teaching of Abraham, Jesus and Muhammad is not dirty, but,
practices in the name of these religions can be unclean and can
cause people to look upon the misrepresented religion as being
unclean.”
"Hitler was a very great man" comments
In response to Farrakhan's speech, Nathan Pearlmutter, then
Chair of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) of B'nai B'rith,
referred to Farrakhan as the new "Black Hitler" and “Village
Voice” journalist Nat Hentoff also characterized the NOI leader as a "Black Hitler" while a guest on a New York radio talk show.

In response, Farrakhan announced during a March 11, 1984, speech
broadcast on a Chicago radio station; “So I said to the members
of the press, 'Why won't you go and look into what we are saying
about the threats on Reverend Jackson's life?' Here the Jews
don't like Farrakhan and so they call me 'Hitler.' Well that's a
good name. Hitler was a very great man. He wasn't great for me
as a Black man but he was a great German and he rose Germany up
from the ashes of her defeat by the united force of all of
Europe and America after the First World War. Yet Hitler took
Germany from the ashes and rose her up and made her the greatest
fighting machine of the twentieth century. Brothers and sisters,
and even though Europe and America had deciphered the code that
Hitler was using to speak to his chiefs of staff, they still had
trouble defeating Hitler even after knowing his plans in
advance. Now I'm not proud of Hitler's evil toward Jewish
people, but that's a matter of record. He rose Germany up from
nothing. Well, in a sense you could say there is a similarity in
that we are rising our people up from nothing, but don't compare
me with your wicked killers.”
Allegations of sexism
Farrakhan received sexual discrimination complaints filed with a
New York state agency when he banned women from attending a
speech he gave in a city owned theater in 1993. The next year he

gave a speech only women could attend. In his speech for women,
as The New York Times reported, Mr. Farrakhan urged the women to embrace his formula for a successful family. He encouraged them
to put husbands and children ahead of their careers, shun tight,
short skirts, stay off welfare and reject abortion. He also
stressed the importance of cooking and cleaning and urged women
not to abandon homemaking for careers. 'You're just not going to
be happy unless there is happiness in the home,' Mr. Farrakhan
said at the Mason Cathedral Church of God in Christ in the
Dorchester section, not far from the Roxbury neighborhood where
he was raised by a single mother. “Your professional lives can't
satisfy your soul like a good, loving man.”
Health
Farrakhan announced that he was seriously ill in a letter on
September 11, 2006 that was directed to his staff, Nation of
Islam members, and supporters. The letter, published in The
Final Call newspaper, said that doctors in Cuba had discovered a
peptic ulcer. According to the letter subsequent infections
caused Farrakhan to lose 35 pounds, and he urged the Nation of
Islam leadership to carry on while he recovered. Farrakhan was
released from his five week hospital stay on January 28, 2007,
after major abdominal surgery. The operation was performed to
correct damage caused by side effects of a radioactive "seed"

implantation procedure that he received years earlier to
successfully treat prostate cancer. Following his hospital stay, Farrakhan released a "Message of Appreciation" to supporters and
well-wishers and weeks later delivered the keynote address at
the Nation of Islam's annual convention in Detroit.In December
2013, Farrakhan announced that he had not appeared publicly for
two months because he had suffered a heart attack in October.
Music
When Farrakhan first joined the NOI he was asked by Elijah
Muhammad to put aside his musical career as a calypso singer.
After 42 years, Farrakhan decided to take up the violin once
more primarily due to the urging of prominent classical musician
Sylvia Olden Lee. On April 17, 1993, Farrakhan made his return concert debut with performances of the Violin Concerto in E
Minor by Felix Mendelssohn. Farrakhan intimated that his
performance of a concerto by a Jewish composer was, in part, an
effort to heal a rift between him and the Jewish community. The

From Jew to Israeli – In Quest of the “Other”
An Op-Ed Piece by Professor Mark Sonnenschein, Ben-Gurion
University of the Negev; “The Threat at ‘Home’”
That the Israeli identity’s mass opposition to 2,000 year old
Jewish habit is well known. On a general level, one might
dismiss this as a possibly welcomed turning away from dogmatic
tradition which lose relevance in the pragmatism of the educated
and well-informed, internet-ized 21st century. That would appear
to be generally reasonable, while also specifically flat out
wrong. Further, what may be not that well known is this identity
crisis’ continual increase in the state of Israel dating back to
when an abacus was a household item.

Bottom line, those who were born in Israel, Sabras, have always
held and had access to a higher place than the others; and they
have always been much less religious than the pale and
standardly garbed descendants of Abraham. If you require further
succinctness, it is fair to say that the two groups are
obviously different. This could well be the best reason why the
hostility to Judaism often encountered in Israel is unparalleled
in the Diaspora. This hostility to Judaism found diverse
expressions among the founders of the state, including the
choice of new, Hebraized names. The father of a member of the
Knesset gave himself the name Kofer, his self shown, in a
demonstration of, if not rare pride in being openly known as
‘the heretic,’ then as a cunning move by an entrepreneur in gear
with the lower IQ market.
The founding fathers of every country generally strive to imbue
their new state with certain philosophical foundations. Israel
is no exception. In fact, it’s possible that the Zionist State
is one of the most striking examples of nation-building/social
engineering in modern times. As one of the most pronounced
foundations Israel’s first leaders, who overwhelmingly stemmed
from the Irgun-Lehi-Herut-Likud groups, Irgun and Lehi even
expediently banned by Israel itself as terrorist organizations
in moves later contradicted, sought to instill in their great

social experiment an un-natural disrespect for religion, more
specifically Judaism. And that foundation still holds strong,
indeed multiplies, to this day. It would seem that the anti-
religious enthusiasm that once galvanized the secular Jews of
Russia produced long lasting results for Jewish immigrants,
mostly in Israel.
Stated with the 20-20 hindsight endemic to long term viewers
capable of seeing the forest, and in specific context of the
Israeli, false-Jew led, scheme, in their ostensible quest to
produce a national identity palatable to the world, at least
insofar as that world was encapsulated in the generally
ineffectual edicts of the United Nations, early Zionist thinkers
had to find an ‘other’ entity to which they could juxtapose
their ‘New Hebrew,’ who otherwise might have looked remarkably
similar to the Hitler Youth. The only question was who? Who
would serve as the foil to their ‘new’ Sabra? The question was
short lived as it was quickly answered with a return to the
proven well of the much beleaguered true Jew. In spite of the
fact that the Russian pogroms had shattered these proto-
nationalists past hopes of assimilation, they still couldn’t
envision themselves in contrast to the European nationalism they
were now sycophantically emulating. Come what may, they were
committed mockingbirds. Seeing as they were seeking to divest

Jewishness of its normative and formational content, true
Judaism, the obvious choice was to make a mockery of Torah
Jewry. Religious Jews were, up until approximately a hundred
years prior to Zionism, the incorrect but accepted definition of
Jewish. The word Jew was something which came with an implied
set of appearances, behaviors and beliefs, enjoining action.
Israelism, as envisioned and later implemented by the Zionist
State’s architects, was to become the cornerstone of the ‘New
Jews,’ antiseptic, brave, irreligious, and a struggling being,
just like you, successfully hoping that you wouldn’t notice that
their claim to a ‘Jewish” state belied their claim of not
exactly being Jewish. They made up for their abandonment of
their ancestral faith with their fiery and unconditional
allegiance to the new civic religion. A tangled mass of
emotionally charged Judaic symbols now stripped of their
original Torah meaning were pressed into service, conscripted
for the new, God-free movement of the ‘people.’ Professor
Yeshayahu Leibowitz, playing the part of modern ‘prophet’ during
the formative years of Israel, painted a picture which since has
proven to be remarkably accurate. ‘The danger is that the new
national identity will be be transformed into a statism and will
to power; into a national identity in the Mussolinian sense.’ As
they assailed the walls of Torah, they proclaimed their mission.
Barnavi stated that ‘Zionism had claimed; no more tradition’s

chains shall bind us,’ and thereby consigned to oblivion all
that had been so unfortunate as to have proceeded it.’ This was
a project of monumental proportions, building a national
character from scratch. And this proved far from simple or even
desirable. Professor Rabkin pointed out that, ‘While the
Italians had developed a culture; language, literature,
political tradition, intellectual heritage, which reflected
their national consciousness centuries before finally creating a
state of their own, the national consciousness of the Jews had
only Judaism as a shared basis, and the state’s founders openly
opposed it.’ Jay Y. Gonen, in his psychohistory of Zionism,
maintains that the complete severance of the relationship with
God that the Zionism entailed eliminates the sole distinctive
trait of the Jews.
A replacement is necessarily in order then; hence, Israel’s
national obsession with security. Making security sacrosanct
also had the added benefit of squelching dissident voices as
‘traitors’ who ‘place other Jews in danger.’ Imbued with power
stolen from Judaism and having stripped many Jews of the
authentic definition of ‘Jewish,’ the Zionist leadership could
now label all those who questioned Israel as endangering the
very existence of the Jewish people.

Sadly for them, there would always be pesky naysayers who
refused to drink the Kool-Aid. No matter though. They would also
serve a purpose in the nascent state. They would continue on in
their role as the ‘other,’ only magnified. This, according to
Professor Noah Efron of the Bar-Ilan University, is precisely
the part now played, unwittingly, by ‘Israel’s’ Haredi, Ultra-
Orthodox population.
Even today, the ‘other’ remains a crucial element of Israeli
identity, a need to define one’s self in opposition to something
else, rather than in a positive form, much like 2019 US
Democrats and worldwide post-modernists, post-industrialists,
and one-worlders have no policy other than a repudiation of
Rumpole, and for many Israelis the conveniently salient ‘other’
is the Haredi, a broad spectrum of groups within Orthodox
Judaism, all characterized by a rejection of modern secular
culture. Its members are often referred to as strictly Orthodox
or ultra-Orthodox, which term has become pejorative. This is
because, as the Zionist enterprise tires, as it projects a less
and less positive vision of society, the counterweight of the
Haredim as a justification for Zionism becomes more important.
Disliking Haredim is attractive, in part, because it allows
malice to serve as a mark of virtue.

of the essential components of Zionism. As Zionist ideologue
Samuel Joseph Ish-Horowitz wrote, ‘The Jew must negate his

wildebeest are documented as being current residents of Southern
Africa only. However, unconfirmed sightings, unfortunately
devoid of photos, have been reported by Hasidic Jews in Israel’s
grasslands. Biological study of 3,000 year old dung droppings
are disputed, but the majority suggest that some of the old dung
properties are consistent with the properties of the new dung of

two different species; the black and the blue. Fossil records
