At the dinner table…

Pastor Connor Drake, in honor giving Sir William the head chair at the table.

On the opposite side of the table, Liam, sitting next to Tauna, as their seven year old grandson William going to his grandparents.

Liam, placing his hand around him in care, as though showing his authority in territorial rites. then gives his adamant look at Sir William his father.

Sir William, noticing his careful diligence in his care of his son’s arms, raised his own question. “ So Liam. Who will facilitate in young William’s upbringing in becoming squire?”

Liam, with tightened lips, looks over at his younger brother, Trey. “Brother Trey. Since you are so equipped in telling our returned Father all about our plans not yet developed or available. How do you determined the outcome?”

Trey, taking a guess in deducements at hand, with his twiddled hands on the table. “Well. I gather, for the most part, it will be handled, with careful instruction.”

Liam, waiting for more information.”Yes, please, our Trey, in fine details. We can’t wait to hear the rest.” Liam veers hard him. As seven year old William going from his grandfather, then to his Great-Grandma Bren.

Trey, taking his wine glass, taking a big sip, gulped down hard. “Well…I suppose... As family rites go.” He pauses to look at his elder brother Liam, then continued. “Well, I would say, maybe, his own father, Devon will have him instructed.” Taking another hard, long sip of his wine.

Liam, then turned boldly to him. “How observant of you Trey. Well done.” He turns back to his father. “Sir William, Father. Now that you have your answer, are you satisfied with it?”

Sir William, like in a game of chess with his son, Liam. Sat upright. “My dear son. In what way will he be instructed?”

Liam, giving a glaring glance back at Trey. “Go on Trey, give the man the answer.”

Trey, loss of words. “Well. I kind of, sort of, already said it.”

Sir William, with pride.“Its so enthralling, this knowledge. I bet you can’t wait to be involved in this instruction, in five years time.”

Liam, giving Trey that eagle eye look. “I bet.”

Trey, looking down at his plate in unintentional regret, now awaiting for the great impact, as usual.

The family watching and listening to their contained arument between each other.Everyone at the table, peering to each other in silence.

Bren, clearing her throat, like cutting through the thick air. “Tuana. Its beautiful this time of year. I hear your renovating the garden.”

Tauna, quickly stated. “Yes Mother. There was a lot of dead leaves to clear out.” Realizing what she just said on word usage, she looked down at the table in prepared second phase of striking short comings.

Devon, leaned back in his chair. “Metaphorically saying.”

Sir William, leaned forward in his chair. “Liam, son. Like I asked, I bet you are thrilled in your involvement to participate in your grandson’s venture into being squire, when that time comes.”

Liam, moving forward in his seat. “ Yes Father. I guess you could say that I look forward in five years time to see my Grandson, William walk in my shoes. Yet it is much too early to see this happening!”

Sir William, his question not answered. “Yes. But are you thrilled in anticipation of your Grandson’s grandeur…”

Liam, leans forward in his hair. “Oh yes. I am more than thrilled!

I’m BEYOND –BLOODY- THRILLED!”

Trey, taking his fork, clunking it down onto his plate. The sound echoed into the room. “Now look you two! Must I always be, referee between you both?!” Giving a no nonsence approach to his eldest brother. “Liam. You are the only unenthusiastic person at this table, dear Brother.”

Liam, in his growing spite of displeasurable look growing upon his face at his father, throwing down his cloth napkin, like a gauntlet of coming challenge excusing himself fom the table, pulls out his chair, gets up and leaves back to his room.

Lady Tauna, seeing his departure, pulls her chair, goes after him.

Liam, upon entering the room, taking his sword into hand, with cloth, begins his routine of wiping the blade, the tilt, and pommel in honorable self preservance.

Tauna, just arriving inside, seeing his usual duty in action, goes to his side, placing her hand upon the tilt of his sword in acknowledgement of her husband’s integrity of chivalry. ”Liam, my love. Why the opposition to your father when the rest of us have absolution?”

Liam, with ridged sigh. “I’m ok , little girl. It is to my own manhood to deal with it. It is not of your concern. Go back to your family, finish your meal. I’ll see you in our bed tonight.”

Tauna, not yielding. “Liam. It is not like you to keep communication from me. There is something deeper hidden within your soul you’re not telling me. As your wife in god’s eyes and Noble Lady of Chivalry Chapel, ABOVE your knighthood I am requesting of your solemn oath to me to reveal of your obscured knowledge. I insist you tell me. In what unresolved issues you have against your father!”

Liam, not yielding. “ Tauna. You know me well by now. My Code of Chivalry of oath to you, is to protect Me noble Lady and her surname of kin from any harm from any known enemy to ensure the future heirs of Chivalry Chapel, and as your god- given-head husband of protection, therefore, request denied, little girl.

Tauna, I am older than you. In the time we first met each other and in the event of our first lovemaking, if you were my same age, you would have the wisdom of not asking unreasonable questions of that of an older women’s unnaive intuition would have.”

Tauna stood in a moment in disbelief on his harsh words to her. “At least as Lady of Chivalry Chapel, I have been taught how to rise above all disenchantment and not disembark from a little challenge of squandering words, running back to cleanse the offensives off your silly combatant stick of sibling rivalry with your beloved younger brother and the rival of your father. But you, my husband I dearly love and would without condition, relinquish my title to, but you chastise even me.”

Liam, seeing her wetted tears began to flow from her eyes, stands quiet in obligation.

Tauna, in her own self preservation. “You don’t think I’m capable of being your equal in nature to your status. You speak of your oath to me but where is your vows to me?” She leaves the room in tearful haste.

Liam, in a moment of self reflection of a tormented soul, taking his sword, in anger hurling it to the floor.

Treading down the corridor in such hurtful display of haste bypassing her mother, Bren stopped just short of her. ”Tauna??!!” About to go after her, then Connor coming around the corner, seeing Liam’s sword lay flat on floor of his shortcomings and his daughter’s tempered disposition, coming from both sides, but well knowledgeable of their declared love for each other, interveined her movement. “No Bren. It’s imperitive they sort It out for themselves. It’s imperitive for the sake of The future of Chivalry Chapel.” Taking her hand into his hand. “Just like we had to in our time. Come on love, let’s have brunch in the garden. I heard it was just renovated recently.”
