Chapter 31

Diane D Returns Back To The Mental Institution

Diane D is laying on her bed chest down with her face to the side sadly staring into space as her family and relatives sadly surround her. Margarita then says, "Diane? Are you okay?"

Diane D turns around chest up. She sits up on the bed and says, "No I'm not okay Grandma. I don't want to be committed again and have to leave you all again. Man, I should have never allowed myself to be hypnotized, because look where it's gotten me.

Now I have to be committed again and leave home again."

"I know baby. We'll be staying with you at the state hospital."

"I know, but that's not the point Grandma. I still have to leave home and I don't want to. Did Doctor Stone say how long I will be committed?"

"No he didn't say how long Diane," Barry says. "We don't know. But we have to get you going. Doctor Stone is downstairs waiting for you."

"There I go again back into the state hospital." Diane D's family and relatives are in 311

tears as they sadly look at her.

It is fifteen minutes later. There are a few vans outside Margarita and Tomas mansion. Diane D's family and Michael are outside the vans loading Diane D's luggage into the back of the first van which is a 15-seat passenger van as Dr. Stone and Diane D's two probation officers stand aside looking on. Diane D stands outside the van talking with Nancy and Charlotte as Michael turns to her and says, "I got your papers Diane."

"Okay Michael," Diane D says.

Margarita turns to Diane D and says, "Obtener en el interior de la camioneta Diane." Diane D turns and is about to get into the van as Nancy and Charlotte are about to follow her in. Margarita turns to Nancy and Charlotte and says to them, "Wait you two." Diane D, Nancy and Charlotte stop as Margarita says to Nancy and Charlotte,

"Just me?" Diane D asks.

"Yes just you." Margarita turns back to Nancy and Charlotte and says, "Por el momento, ustedes dos ir y obtén el resto de las pertenencias de Diane."

"Okay Grandma," Nancy and Charlotte say as they turn and walk away from the van.

Margarita turns back to Diane D and says, "Entrar en la camioneta."

"But nobody else is inside the van yet Grandma," Diane D says. "I thought you didn't trust me being anywhere by myself."

"I don't Diane."

"But you trust me being in the van by myself?"

"Yes I trust you being in the van by yourself Diane, you know why? Because I'm going to give you this bible to hold and to read again," Margarita says as she holds a bible up to Diane D. "Instead of you having the urge to meditate, I want you to have the urge to read the bible and I want you to continue reading this bible while we're riding to the state hospital."

"Read the bible while we're riding to the hospital?"

"That's right."

"Do I have to Grandma?"

"Listen Diane, I want you to read this bible the whole entire time we're riding to the state hospital unless you happen to fall asleep, do you understand?"

"But Grandma..."

"Do you understand Diane?!"

Diane D sadly looks at Margarita. She then says, "Yes Grandma."

"Good. Ahora toma la Biblia dentro de la furgoneta y empezar a leerlo." Margarita hands the bible to Diane D. Diane D takes the bible. Margarita then says, "And I want you to sit right there in the middle of the second row seat while you're reading the bible." Diane D turns and gets into the van. Once Diane D gets inside the van, Margarita shouts to her, "Start reading!" Margarita closes the van door. She gives another look towards Diane D. She then turns and walks away from the van and walks towards the rest of her family.

Diane D is inside the van sitting in the middle of the second row seat frustrated and upset as she looks out the window at Margarita. She then turns her head and looks 312

around the van. She sees that she is all alone inside there. She turns her head back forward and looks back out the window angrily looking back at Margarita. She then sighs and looks down at the bible that's in her hands. She opens it and starts to read it.

Outside the van, Dr. Stone brings Margarita, Tomas, Mary and Barry to the side away from the van. He speaks to them and says, "So how does Diane feel about herself killing people, especially police officers, and now a priest?!"

"She still don't believe she did it Doctor Stone!" Margarita says.

"She doesn't?"

"No!"

"Why not?"

"Because she says she's not a killer!"

"She's still claiming that?"

"Yes Doctor Stone! She says she does not go around killing people!"

"That's the same thing she said about that kid Marcus, that she doesn't believe she beat him up either and claims she does not go around beating up children! It's true that her ORIGINAL soul, spirit and personality doesn't go around beating up children or killing people. Too bad we can't say the same for her other personalities."

"That's true Doctor Stone," Mary says. "So far Diane still believes that she's being punished for something she didn't do!"

"It is true that her original personality is being punished for something her original personality didn't do."

"Doctor Stone," Tomas says. "I'm still worried about while Diane is committed in the mental institution, that other personality will pull her original soul and spirit right out of her physical body again then enter her physical body and take her place again like it did before, and the people in the mental institution won't even know it. They'll just assume that it's Diane's original soul, spirit and personality!"

"Well it's a good thing that some of you guys are staying in the mental institution with her. That way that other soul, spirit or personality will keep away from her and stay at bay. That other soul, spirit or personality did say that they DO NOT pull Diane's original soul and spirit out of her physical body and enter it while her family is around.

It did claim that it does not have an encounter with Diane's family while Diane is in the state hospital, that they leave the family encounter to Diane herself. Have any of you including Nancy and Charlotte ever encountered that other personality again since Diane left the hospital?"

"No," Barry says. "As far as we know, none of us encountered that other personality since Diane left the hospital. We haven't noticed anything strange about her."

"You haven't?"

"No. So far she's been behaving normal."

"She has?"

"As far as we saw, she has."

"What about her facial appearance? Has her facial appearance seem normal or pale?"

"As far as we've seen, we haven't notice anything strange about her facial appearance either."

"You haven't?"

"No."

"Has she been meditating since she left the hospital?"

"As far as we know, she hasn't meditated. We had her watched at all times."

"You have?"

"Yes we have."

"What about Dana? Has she been meditating so far?"

"If Diane is not meditating, you will not find Dana meditating either, so you really don't have to worry about her."

"Oh that's good. Maybe that's why that other soul, spirit or personality hasn't come around, because Diane hasn't been able to meditate again with you all having her be watched. Maybe your method of having Diane be watched at all times worked Miss Margarita."

"I hope so Doctor Stone," Margarita says. "All I can do is hope so, because if that other soul, spirit or personality comes back inside my grandchild's body again, I have more words to say to it!"

"You do?"

"Of course I do!"

"Wow, you have guts Miss Margarita. I don't know if anybody else would want to challenge that other soul, spirit or personality! After what happened inside that hypnosis room which so far caused six people to lose their life, I don't dare challenge that other soul, spirit or personality ever again!"

"Well I better have guts Doctor Stone! I have to have guts in order to protect my grandchild!"

"I understand Miss Margarita. But when I tried to challenge that other soul, spirit or personality and told it to stay away from Diane and not to come back around her anymore, we all saw what happened as a result. Her other soul, spirit or personality broke loose from those chains and viciously assaulted me and Doctor Kahn and brutally attacked anybody else who dared to enter that hypnosis room. That soul, spirit and personality has taken the lives of six people from that incident and has even driven Marcus to take his own life! That's seven deaths altogether, so far! But for some reason, that other soul, spirit and personality did not turn on you inside that hospital room bathroom Miss Margarita. It didn't turn on you when YOU told it to stay away from Diane and not to come back around Diane anymore. Instead, it just seemed to respect you and told you that it won't come back around Diane anymore. Why did that other soul, spirit and personality respect YOU Miss Margarita? What's your secret?"

"There is no secret Doctor Stone. That other soul, spirit or personality told me plain and simple, because I'm Diane's family and that Diane loves her family."

"I figured that might be the reason, but you just confirmed to me, that it is."

"That is the reason Doctor Stone, there's no other reason, or secret." Dr. Stone sadly looks at Margarita. Margarita then says, "Well I guess we better go get Diane settled in at the State Hospital, because after we get her settled in, we're going to come back for Dana."

"Dana? You're going to come back for Dana? Come back for Dana for what?"

"To be committed!"

"What! To be committed?! You want Dana to be committed Miss Margarita?!"

"Of course I do! She needs to get counseling!"

"But she hasn't done anything! She didn't kill anybody so far!"

"That's right she didn't kill anybody, yet! And that's the way I want to keep it! I don't want Dana to get influenced by Diane anymore and wind up meditating with her again! After what that other soul, spirit or personality told me inside that hospital room bathroom, that they were about to use Dana's physical body in an attempted murder and Dana didn't even know about it and wasn’t aware of it, that scared me!

What also scares me, is the fact that Dana STILL does not know that her own physical body was about to be used in an attempted murder!"

"Oh my God."

"So I said to myself, 'no way'! Dana needs to be committed too and watched whenever she's with Diane! It's bad enough that Diane meditates and now we have to worry about Dana meditating right along with her too?! Especially now that I know the fact that Dana sees absolutely nothing wrong with Diane meditating?! No! She is going to be committed and get counseling to keep her from going along with Diane and meditating again! I'm not gonna let her escape this!"

"But how did you find out that Dana sees nothing wrong with Diane meditating?"

"Nancy and Charlotte told me! They told me that when they were staying at Gracy and Mike's house and Diane left the bedroom and didn't come back, they left the bedroom and told Dana about it! They said Dana told them that Diane went down to the kitchen. They said that they asked Dana could she go down to the kitchen and check on Diane because they were afraid that Diane could be secretly meditating while she's alone down in the kitchen and no one is watching her, and they said that Dana said to them 'So what. What's wrong with her meditating?"

"What's wrong with her meditating?! That's what Dana said to them?"

"That's what Nancy and Charlotte told us! They said to Dana 'doesn't she know that strange things usually occur whenever Diane meditates'! Then they said Dana told them those strange things that occur have nothing to do with Diane meditating, that she thinks they're coincidences."

"Coincidences?! Dana think they're coincidences?!"

"Yeah, according to Nancy and Charlotte! They said they asked Dana again could she go downstairs to check on Diane because they told her they don't want to run into that other personality just in case that other personality emerges out of Diane again and they said Dana told them 'there's no such thing that she doesn't believe in split personalities that she doesn't believe that another personality caused Diane to attack the doctors, a priest, security guards, police officers and a swat team that she believe Diane's original personality attacked them and got so angry that her original personality forgot she did it'! She believes that Diane's original personality was so angry that she blocked it out and thinks it could happen to anybody."

"That's what Dana thinks, that things like that can happen to anybody?!"

"That's what Nancy and Charlotte said!"

"Things like that don't happen to anybody. As a matter of fact, I don't think things like that happens to other people at all, just Diane!"

"Well Dana certainly doesn't believe that it was another personality involved?"

"Then where does she think Diane get her superhuman strength from when Diane literally broke loose from those chains she was wrapped in and breaking the chains loose from the couch she was chained to then lifting and tossing that heavy couch thirty feet across a room at seventy or eighty miles an hour, faster than most cars?! Where does she think Diane get her superhuman strength from?!"

"She think they're just coincidences too! She doesn't believe in split personalities at all! She's just like Diane because Diane doesn't believe in split personalities either!

They both think all these supernatural occurrences that happen right after Diane meditates are just plain coincidences! So therefore, after we get Diane settled in, we're coming back for Dana, because she's next! Gracy and Mike will be waiting for us when we come back for Dana."

"They are? So that means they agree with you?"

"Yes they do. They and Dana's parents are planning to ride with us when we come back for Dana."

"You got it Miss Margarita."

"Let's go." Margarita turns and walks away as everyone else turn and follow her.

Margarita shouts to the rest of her family, "Let's get going everybody!" Margarita turns and walks to the van as everyone else turns and follows her.

Inside the van, Diane D is now leaned back against the second row seat with one knee up holding the bible in front of herself leaning it against her lap as she angrily looks at it reading it. She then hears the van door about to open. She looks towards the van door and sees Michael coming into the van. Michael says to her, "Hey Diane, slide over this way. Your mom is gonna sit on the opposite side of you while I sit on this side of you." Diane D sits up. She then slides over towards Michael. Michael sits down next to Diane D and puts his arm around her shoulders. Michael looks at Diane D and says,

"Is everything okay?"

"No everything is not okay Michael," Diane D says. "I'm still being committed."

"It's going to be okay." Michael and Diane D then look outside the van at the rest of the family.

Mary then gets into the opposite side of the van. She sits right next to Diane D's left. Barry then gets into the other side of the van. Charlotte gets into the van followed by Nancy. Mickey gets into the van followed by Nicolas. Margarita gets into the van followed by Tomas. One of the probation officers get into the front passenger seat as Dr. Stone goes around the van to the driver's side. Dr. Stone then gets into the driver's seat.

Uncle Tonio, Aunt Marilyn and other relatives get into a second and third vans. The vans sit there for a minute. Then all the vans' doors closes. The vans then drive off and head down the road following one another.

It is two hours later. The three vans continue to drive as they drive in Upstate New York.

Inside the first van, Dr. Stone continues to drive. Everyone else inside the van has fallen asleep except for one of the probation officers who's sitting in the front passenger seat. Michael, Diane D and Mary are sleeping in the second row seat with Diane D laying on Mary. Tomas, Charlotte and Margarita are sleeping in the third row seat with Charlotte laying on Margarita. Barry, Nancy and Mickey are sleeping in the fourth row seat and Nicolas and the other probation officer are sleeping in the fifth row.

As Dr. Stone continues to drive, he looks in the rearview mirror. He suddenly sees Diane D's other personality sitting there with the eerie pale face and puffy swollen eyes angrily staring at him through the rearview mirror! "Aaaahh!" Dr. Stone screams! He panics and is about to have an accident! Suddenly Diane D's other personality quickly lunges at Dr. Stone and grabs him by the neck! "Aaaahh!" Dr. Stone screams as the van goes off the road and crashes through a rail barrier! The van then goes over a cliff and plunges as Doctor Stone screams, "Aaaaaaaaahhhh!"

PRESENT:

"Aaaaahh!" Dr. Stone screams as he wakes up from a nightmare! He looks around and finds himself sitting in the passenger seat of the van instead of the driver's seat as the van continues driving. He nervously turns his head around and looks towards the back seats and sees Diane D and her family puzzled staring at him with Diane D leaning her back against Mary's chest with Mary's arms wrapped around her.

"What's going on Doctor Stone?!" Margarita shouts from the third row seat.

"Yeah!" Barry shouts from the fourth row seat. "You practically scared us half to death! What happened?!"

Dr. Stone is nervous and sweaty as he puzzled looks towards the back seats. He then looks towards the driver's seat. He sees the probation officer driving the van instead. The probation officer puzzled looks at Dr. Stone and says, "Doctor Stone, are you okay?" Dr. Stone puzzled looks at the probation Officer.

"What happened Stone?!" Margarita shouts.

Dr. Stone turns his head back around towards Margarita and nervously says, "Oh!

It was nothing Miss Margarita! It's just that I had a bad dream that's all."

"A bad dream?!"

"Yeah."

"About what?!"

"Yeah Doctor Stone," Michael says. "What happened in your dream that made you scream?"

"Well," Doctor Stone says as Diane D and her family puzzled stare at him. "Oh nothing. It's just that I dreamt we had an accident."

"You dreamt we had an accident?!" Margarita shouts.

"Yeah. I got startled and woke up that's all. I didn't mean to wake you all. I'm sorry." Dr. Stone then turns his head and looks back at the probation officer. He then whispers, "What am I doing in the passenger seat? Wasn't I driving?"

"Yes you were driving Doctor Stone," the probation officer whispers as he continues to drive, "but you kept dozing off at the wheel! We almost had an accident!"

"We ALMOST had an accident?!"

"Almost! So I had to take over the wheel or else we would have actually had an accident!"

"Oh my God! But how did you wind up taking over the wheel while I was driving?"

"I encouraged you to pull over to the side, so you did. Then I got out of the car, came to the driver's side, got you out of the driver's seat and walked you to the passenger seat, sat you down in the passenger seat, closed the passenger door then I went back around and got into the driver’s seat. That's when I took over the wheel."

"Oh yeah?"

"Yes."

"I don't remember any of that."

"Well of course you might not remember any of it, you were out of it, that's why you don't remember. You were tired and probably just needed some rest, that's all."

"Oh." Dr. Stone continues to puzzled look at the probation officer. He then turns his head back around again and looks back at Diane D's family who are trying to go back to sleep. Dr. Stone puzzled looks at Diane D. Then he puzzled stares at Diane D.

Diane D has the back of her head and shoulders laid on Mary's lap with her eyes closed, head back and the bible still in her hands while her legs rest on Michael's lap.

Mary looks down at Diane D as she strokes and checks the skin on the front of Diane D's neck. Margarita leans forward towards the second row seat and checks on Diane D.

Mary turns to Margarita and says, "Ella está bien Mamá. Ella se había secado para arriba polvo en el cuello."

"Ella hizo?" Margarita asks.

"Sí. Tuve cuidado de ello ya."

"Bueno eso es bueno," Margarita smiles and says. Margarita takes one more look at Diane D. She then leans back in her seat as Charlotte leans her head and back against her. Mary looks back down at Diane D. She smiles at Diane D then bends and gives Diane D a loving kiss on the cheek. Diane D feels the kiss and smiles as her eyes remain closed. Mary hugs and holds Diane D more tight. She brings Diane D up a little as she presses her and Diane D's faces against each other. Mary then lays her profile right on top of Diane D's face as she tries to rock Diane D back to sleep.

Dr. Stone continues to puzzled stare at Diane D. He then turns his head and looks back at the probation officer as the probation officer continues to drive. He then turns his head forward and worriedly looks out through the front window.
