A research on sex tourism with an emphasis on the men. Why do hundreds of thousands of men flock to Costa Rica to pay for sex and to fall in love with these same sex workers? The answer is not simple and this book is the best attempt at its comprehension. Schifter tells us is not sex what is sought after and that monguering (liking paid sex) is not without morals or ethics. Nevertheless, is it moral? Schifter will surprise you. So it will his use of postmodern theory to explain gender and seduction.

Jacobo Schifter
The author has a PhD in History from Columbia University, New York. He has written more than 20 books on US relations with Central America, the Jewish Community in the region, and on sexual minorities. Many of these books have been published in the States. Among these are Lila's House, A Study on Male Prostitution in Latin America, The Sexual Construction of Latino Youth, Macho Love. A Study of Sex in Prison and many others. The author currently works at UPEACE, teaching courses on Gender and Genocide.
