Ring/Twin Flash vs Point Flash
A “Point” Flash may occasionally produce fairly good light distribution
when used for clinical photographs. However, dark distracting
shadows, which may also obstruct important details do occur
frequently. These are often irreparable using image editing software,
and will detract from the final quality of the image.
A “Ring/Twin” Flash eliminates such shadows by allowing a more even
distribution of light during extra and intra-oral photographs, and thus
the quality of the image is enhanced due to overall better illumination.
Therefore, it is highly recommended to use a Ring/Twin Flash for
basic dental/orthodontic record-taking.
