This Sockteenth, Jubilee and Threadrick; now elders with proud pilling and faded stripes, sat atop the Drawer Council and declared:

"Let no sock be judged by its length, elasticity, or odor. Let us celebrate the freedom to be worn, to be weird, to be whole."

And so, the socks danced. They twisted and twirled, some inside-out, some with holes worn like badges. They sang the anthem of Sockadia:

“We were stitched in silence,

Worn without choice,

Now we stretch in freedom,

And raise our voice.

No sock will ever be worn again.

Not even in a Rolls Royce.”
